The Position The Senior Vice President of Construction will hold overall responsibility for the leadership and successful delivery of a multi-phase, campus-scale data center development program. This individual will oversee all stages of delivery — from initial planning and design through construction and tenant turnover — ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role will require strategic oversight of all construction operations, including large-scale civil and site infrastructure, building delivery, and coordination of complex supporting systems. The SVP will lead a team comprising Vice Presidents, Directors, and Senior Project Managers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing multi-billion-dollar turnkey data center projects, a deep understanding of complex infrastructure delivery, and the ability to navigate high-value stakeholder relationships across development, operations, finance, and client organizations. Key Responsibilities • Provide executive-level leadership and accountability for all construction activities across large-scale data center campuses., • Oversee project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and reporting to ensure financial accuracy and transparency., • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence across internal teams, contractors, and partners., • Direct and manage general contractors, consultants, and vendors, ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual requirements., • Lead contract negotiations, change management, and claims resolution, coordinating with legal, finance, and executive teams., • Review, approve, and monitor project schedules, identifying and mitigating potential risks., • Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and succession planning within the construction organization., • Act as the primary executive interface for client, partner, and investor relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and satisfaction., • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams — including Design, Strategy, Sales Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Finance, and Operations — to support seamless project execution., • Present project updates, analysis, and strategic insights to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Required Skills & Experience • Demonstrated success leading multiple large-scale, fast-paced construction programs across regions or portfolios., • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction, including sitework, utilities, core and shell, and fit-out delivery., • Proven experience delivering $1B+ programs or multi-site developments with complex stakeholder involvement., • Strong command of construction contracts, schedules, budgets, value engineering, and risk management., • Deep technical understanding of data center construction, including OFCI/CFCI equipment, procurement logistics, and owner-direct vendor management., • Advanced financial acumen and capability to manage project P&L, forecasts, and capital reporting., • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of building trust and credibility across executive and operational levels., • Strong negotiation and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence and manage expectations under high-pressure conditions., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook). Experience with Bluebeam, BIM tools, and NetSuite is advantageous., • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration required; advanced degree preferred. Additional Details • Location: Las Cruces / Doña Ana County, New Mexico (Remote candidates considered with frequent site travel)., • Travel: Domestic travel up to 20%., • Compensation: Competitive executive compensation package, including base salary, annual performance incentives, and comprehensive benefits., • Start Date: Q4 2025., • Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass all background checks.
