Job DescriptionSalary: $95,000 - $105,000 People Architects is excited to hire a Chemist for an on-site role in Cleveland, Ohio for one of our manufacturing clients. Youll support development, analytical testing, scale-up, and production of specialty materials used in advanced applications across energy, mobility, lighting, and electronics. This is hands-on lab work with real impactpartnering closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and R&D to keep processes robust and products on spec. Responsibilities: • Plan and run lab experiments to develop/optimize/troubleshoot specialty chemistries and formulations, • Execute wet chemistry & analytical testing (titrations, pH, particle size, spectroscopy/chromatography as applicable), • Analyze results, interpret trends, and produce clear technical summaries and recommendations, • Support scale-up by translating lab findings into pilot/production conditions; help prepare batch instructions, • Support method development/validation; maintain and improve SOPs and lab procedures, • Partner with Quality & Operations on investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA, • Maintain strong documentation (lab notebooks/e-records), sample tracking, and instrument readiness, • Operate safely (chemical handling, waste disposal, PPE, and hygiene protocols), • Contribute to continuous improvement (5S, standard work, process optimization) Qualifications (Required & Preferred): • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering (or related), • Strong foundation in general + inorganic chemistry, • Solid lab technique, safe handling habits, and disciplined documentation, • Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and draw practical conclusions, • Organized, detail-driven, able to juggle priorities without dropping quality, • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical teams, • Specialty inorganic materials experience (rare earths, pigments, phosphors, powders/solids), • Hands-on with advanced tools (ICP, XRF, XRD, SEM, GC/LC; depending on lab capabilities), • Familiarity with ISO/GMP or manufacturing-quality systems Work Enviroment • Primarily a hands on lab-based role with regular interaction with production areas and cross-functional teams rather than theroretical research., • Requires use of appropriate PPE and adherence to chemical hygiene and safety protocols.
