Who We Are We are an affiliate of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), incorporated in the United States and based in Houston, Texas, focused on marketing natural gas. What We Do We contribute to strengthening energy security and advancing energy justice in Mexico by ensuring a reliable, continuous, efficient, and affordable supply of natural gas from the United States. Our work contributes to institutional initiatives to expand access and promote sustainable development, ensuring CFE has the fuel needed to generate electricity across Mexico. Program Overview Work with CFEi ENERGY—where excellence, accountability, and teamwork drive real results. CFE International (CFEi) is offering a 3-month, full-time Summer Fellowship designed to develop analytical talent for the energy trading industry. Fellows gain hands-on experience in transaction reconciliation, financial operations, and data analytics within a live natural gas trading environment. In addition to core role experience, fellows will participate in cross-department learning opportunities, mentorship, and networking, providing exposure to multiple areas of the business and leadership team. What You’ll Do • Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial and corporate agreements, including NAESB Base Contracts and transportation agreements, • Prepare legal memoranda, summaries, and presentations to advise internal stakeholders, • Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local laws impacting the natural gas industry, with a focus on Texas regulations, • Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on commercial strategy and operations, • Manage contract lifecycle processes, including tracking, compliance, and maintenance of legal documentation Capstone Project Lead a business-critical project focused on process improvement, automation, or efficiency, and present results to leadership.
