SECNY Federal Credit Union is currently looking for an Assistant Branch Manager for our Onondaga Hill Branch. This position is responsible for assisting with the responsibilities of directing and controlling the operational activities and staff of the branch. Duties & Responsibilities: • Oversees the daily operation of the branch, according to written branch operation standards, including adherence to security procedures., • Ensures the application and compliance with established operating policies and procedures of the credit union., • Formulates basic recommendations concerning polices and services for review by the Chief Operations Officer and/or Lending Manager., • Assists Branch Manager with performance evaluations, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees., • Assists in the processing of teller transactions and balancing when necessary., • Follows safety/security policies and procedures. Assists in providing ongoing training., • Manages the cross-selling efforts of the branch of our full range of financial services., • Assist the Branch Manager with ensuring that sound business practices for the credit union are being followed, while providing a high quality level of service for members, and that employees are maximizing opportunities to offer products and services., • Manages the security and safety of the branch, with responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures, and to alert staff of any changes., • Meets with current and potential select employee group companies in branch area to promote member growth., • Resolves member problems/responds to inquiries beyond the authority of other branch personnel., • Supervises activity of all branch personnel., • Ensures all personnel adhere to branch standards in telephone and in-person contact., • Ensures all member problems/inquiries reported to any branch personnel are properly addressed and resolved in a timely manner., • Advises the Chief Operations Officer on training needs and/or production problems., • Ensures that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by all applicable regulatory agencies., • Evaluates loan applicants, accurately completes required loan forms, analyzes credit and financial information, and makes decisions on loans within the prescribed limitation. Fulfills all underwriting, closing, and funding processes within specified credit union policies and procedures., • Opens all types of accounts and promotes additional services., • Assist in researching any MSR out of balance conditions. Associate's Degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 4-6 years related experience and/or training in cash handling or customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Description STATUS: Full-time / Exempt REPORTS TO: Director Regional Branch Services LOCATION: Erie Boulevard Branch COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $70,000-$85,000*. The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law. HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, including Saturdays (as needed) *All Branch Manager levels may be considered. Compensation offers are based on direct experience, relevant skills, training, and education. Position Overview The Branch Manager is primarily responsible for planning, directing and organizing the daily operational activities of the credit union branch, as well as, motivating and coaching staff relative to service, operations, and sales. The Branch Manager is focused on ensuring the branch team is providing exceptional service delivery to members that it is conducted in a manner consistent with The Summit’s Sales Philosophy, the Creating Member Loyalty program, and Our Team Values of the Credit Union. Additionally, the Branch Manager is responsible for reporting and communicating activities and productivity. Essential Responsibilities • Responsible for developing and maintaining a highly motivated, well-trained staff while promoting effective employee relations. Providing leadership to staff, bringing to life The Summit’s Sales Philosophy, The Summit’s mission and Our Team Values., • Responsible for branch performance results relative to established objectives by demonstrating effective sales leadership and execution of Creating Member Loyalty skills., • Monitors key member needs within the branch to ensure sound business practices for the credit union, exceptional service for members and that employees are recognizing opportunities to educate members on what products and services are available that may enhance their financial wellbeing., • Prepares, implements and supervises an annual/monthly budget for the branch that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union., • Manages the security and safety of the branch, with responsibility to analyze security and safety procedures and to alert staff of any changes., • Ensures the branch is in compliance with internal control procedures and audits as well as federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies., • Maintains knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services in order to efficiently train and motivate staff to build loyal member relationships., • Effectively communicates between the branch and management by preparing daily, weekly, and month-end reports regarding branch activity and productivity., • Formulates recommendations and efficiencies by providing feedback to management., • Schedules and supervises branch staff to maintain optimal member service satisfaction levels. Monitors inbound phone assistance. Work with staff to ensure that employee performance targets are met., • Responsible for building the credit union’s presence in the community. Represents the branch, as appropriate, in its relationships with members, employer groups, community organizations and vendors., • Provides informed, courteous and professional service to members as well as internal and external customers/contacts., • Troubleshoot and resolve member inquiries/complaints in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Ensures that departmental staff provides same level of expected service. Other • Completes projects on a timely basis as assigned by management., • Utilize 2-way dialogue with other departments to clear roadblocks that prevent the branch team from meeting objectives., • Signs checks as necessary., • Performs other various duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience - Applicants must possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience: • Education: An Associate’s Degree and at least two (2) years of professional experience in branch management or sales position or equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience. Credit union experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge/Skills • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
