Jewelry Sales & Appraisal Apprentice We are an established gallery looking to train a beginner to learn how to describe, photograph, and sell high end jewelry. You will be learning from an established company with an experienced master jewelry appraiser teaching you those skills. You can be right out of school, interning at an auction house and looking for a career and a full time position. Previous experience is not required. About the Company: Education Through Music is a non-profit organization that partners with New York City Public Schools to place music teachers and programs back into school’s curricula. We are unique from other arts nonprofits in that we provide a bridge for teachers who are not certified to teach in public schools, build their program, and eventually be hired by a public school for the DOE. ETM has great reach in that we serve all five boroughs, we have partnerships with 50 public schools and provide music education to over 18,000 children. Music is a part of a well rounded education; it is essential for students' social and emotional well being and a critical tool for establishing equity and success. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about music and making a difference in their communities. Responsibilities: - Serving as school music faculty - Coordinating and developing the in-school music program with program staff - Producing two school-wide concerts each year - Attending and assisting in school wide functions such as assemblies, graduation, after school activities - Comprehensive scope and sequencing of lesson planning - Reflect, implement, and improve upon existing processes Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a Music/Arts or Related Field - 1-3 years of teaching groups of up to 30 children - Ability to model quality singing in front of children - Sound musical knowledge - Knowledge of musical pedagogy practices Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s in Music Education or Related Field - Certified to teach in the state of New York or in any other state - 3-5 years of experience teaching in New York City Public Schools - Singing, conducting, keyboard, guitar and presentation skills are all pluses - Prior experience in teaching Band, Orchestra, Modern Band and Choir - Comfortability with Music Technology Software such as Soundtrap
The Omakase Head Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting a multi-course Japanese meal to guests, based on the chef's selection of the freshest and most seasonal ingredients available. The Omakase Head Chef must have a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine and a mastery of traditional Japanese cooking techniques. The ideal candidate will be creative, passionate, and have a strong work ethic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and present a multi-course Japanese meal to guests, based on the chef's selection of the freshest and most seasonal ingredients available. Train Sous Chef on preparation and task-at-hand. Develop and maintain relationships with local purveyors to ensure access to the highest quality ingredients. Create and maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Work closely with the Sous Chef to develop and implement new menu items and specials. Oversees the kitchen staff and ensures that all dishes are prepared to standards. Represent the restaurant in a positive and professional manner. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Japanese restaurant, including at least 2 years of experience as a Master Chef. Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques. Excellent knife skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Creative and passionate about food. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
