Reasonable accommodation that does not cause undue hardship on Austin Hardware & Supply, Inc. will be considered as required by local, state, or federal law.POSITION SUMMARYThe Part-Time Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Bin Stocker is responsible for supporting customer operations by managing inventory levels, stocking bins, and ensuring product availability at designated customer sites. This role is responsible for building solid relationships with Austin’s customers by maintaining accurate inventory counts, reducing stockouts, and providing reliable service to customers. The Bin Stocker works independently in the field, visiting assigned locations on a set schedule, stocking products that have been shipped in and scanning items to create the next replenishment order. The VMI Bin Stocker must complete these tasks while representing the company with professionalism and excellent customer service. Each VMI program is different with unique requirements that must be adhered to for the positive satisfaction of our customer experience. Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Travel to assigned customer sites to monitor inventory levels and replenish inventory bins. We believe the initial schedule will be 2-3 days per week, working 4-8 hours per day but may vary due to customer needs and product deliveries., • Stock and organize products in designated storage areas to maintain neat, accurate, and accessible inventory., • Perform inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and report usage trends., • Ensure products are properly labeled, rotated, and maintained according to customer standards., • Communicate with the VMI team, sales team, and customer contacts regarding inventory needs, product issues, or upcoming shortages., • Use handheld devices, apps, or order forms to record inventory data and submit replenishment requests., • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve stocking efficiency and inventory accuracy., • Look for new opportunities to grow business relationships via projects that are valued by the customer., • Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures while working independently in customer facilities., • Serve as the customer’s advocate to resolve any problems with Austin Hardware service., • Proactively work with the VMI Team and VMI Program Inventory Manager (PIM) in reviewing the customer and Austin Hardware’s inventory positions daily and react with a sense of urgency., • Perform the physical restocking of customer’s shelves to required inventory levels., • Monitor stock levels at the customer’s facility and generate replenishment orders to bring stock up to required levels., • Maintain the Austin stocking area at the customer’s facility in a clean, orderly, and well-labelled manner., • Review and recommend changes to the VMI Team or the VMI PIM to ensure correct stocking levels and excellent service levels., • Identify products or services that Austin may provide to the customer and communicate that information back to Austin sales contact., • Assist in identifying slow moving inventory and communicate back to Austin’s VMI team., • Be Austin’s on-site representative to all departments at the customer’s facility and work to suggest improvement to the VMI program with the customer and Austin management team., • Overnight travel may be necessary but should be rare., • Conduct quarterly inventory audits in conjunction with the VMI Team or VMI PIM, • Other VMI related tasks as requested., • Drive to customer locations expected to be in Oklahoma City OK, Chickasha OK, Tulsa OK, and Joplin MO utilizing a company vehicle or your personal vehicle while receiving a mileage reimbursement through a monthly expense check., • Work part time Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8am-5pm).MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO HOLD THIS POSITIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience/TrainingHigh School degree and/or [1] years’ experience in a warehouse or inventory control environment. Ability to learn Austin’s VMI operating procedures and use them effectively to help manage VMI accounts2. Required Licenses/Certificates/RegistrationsValid Driver’s License, Approved DOT Physical 3. Minimum Ability to Safely Use and Operate the Following EquipmentStandard office equipmentWarehouse equipment such as pallet jacksMust be able to master the technology used in the VMI program (scanner guns, the ERP system, web-based tools, etc.)
