Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Nonprofit Accountant with at least 5 years of experience to oversee and enhance our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in nonprofit accounting principles, grant management, compliance requirements, and payroll processing. This role is essential to ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability, compliance, and efficient financial management. Responsibilities: • Financial Management: Oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations., • Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including tax withholdings and benefit deductions., • Budget Preparation: Collaborate with leadership to develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts., • Grant Management: Track and report on restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements and timelines., • Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare financial documents for annual audits and respond to auditor inquiries., • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors., • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, including the preparation of Form 990 and other required filings., • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred., • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit environment., • Experience with payroll processing, including tax filings and benefits management., • Proficiency in nonprofit accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar)., • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit financial reporting standards., • Experience with grant reporting and management, including federal grants., • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non- financial stakeholders., • Experience managing budgets over $5 million., • Familiarity with fund accounting and payroll processing software; QuickBooks preferred, • Knowledge of financial and payroll regulations specific to nonprofit organizations.Company DescriptionConga Kids' mission is to promote social and emotional well-being and inclusive practices through dance and music!
