OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE The Medical Support Specialist determines donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical issues. Ideally, the Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry and/or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). ACCOUNTABILITIES • Donor Eligibility (85%), • Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) as required., • Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Job Description The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, ORR, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in a Basic Shelter program located at our licensed residential facilities as well as a Transitional Foster Care program in foster homes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester. About the Role The Case Manager Supervisor oversees the case managers to ensure the timely and safe reunification of the unaccompanied children in the program. Job Description The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Job Type: Full-time, Part-Time, or Per Diem Pay: $17.00/ hour Sign-on bonuses available- Earn $500 after 6 months of full-time employment and an additional $500 after 9 months of full-time employment. Responsibilities include: • Teach people receiving supports functional skills as determined by each individual assessment. This may include but is not limited to work readiness skills, behavior management, independent living and/or other skill development., • Monitor skills in a variety of settings, including but not limited to community-based work environments., • Deliver hands-on instruction in community settings and collect data., • Provide transportation and travel training skills to the people receiving supports leading toward independence., • Determine aptitudes, interests and preferences and match people with community training experiences related to their desired outcomes., • Prepare and maintain all documentation pertaining to the people supported including daily data collection and monthly notes, as assigned. May include other required documentation for ACCES-VR, OPWDD, etc. depending upon assignment, • Administer prescribed medications to people receiving supports after successful completion of AMAP medication administration course., • Drive Agency vehicles for transportation of people receiving supports as required, • Act as liaison with other community organizations., • Participate in planning meetings, as assigned., • Assess and identify learning and training needs of people., • Assist with personal care of people receiving support as needed., • Ensure the health and safety of all people receiving supports. Scope of Position: The Neighborhood Navigator role is designed for individuals with lived and shared experiences, providing them with the opportunity to work in focus neighborhoods such as Lower East Side (LES)/Chinatown, Central/East Harlem, Chelsea/Hell's Kitchen/Midtown West, and Washington Heights/Inwood. As part of the program, Neighborhood Navigators will engage with individuals who are living or spending time on the streets, often struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Navigators will build trust and relationships within these communities, helping to direct participants toward long-term care and support, ultimately preventing potential involvement with the justice system. Over time, with established trust, Navigators will provide critical linkages to behavioral health care, housing, and other necessary services, playing a key role in supporting individuals toward recovery and stability. Essential Position Functions: • Conduct outreach throughout the designated neighborhood, including streets, soup kitchens, drop-in centers, parks, and other places where individuals experiencing homelessness may frequent., • Engage individuals encountered in outreach areas or referred by partner agencies., • Complete Immediate Needs Assessments to identify areas where the participant requires assistance or support., • Provide intensive emotional and practical support as participants take initial steps toward change., • Build collaborative and trusting relationships with community-based organizations to help participants connect or reconnect with services and support., • Connect participants with service providers to address needs such as behavioral health treatment, substance use treatment, primary healthcare, entitlements, housing, etc., • Accompany participants to initial appointments to address barriers and ensure meaningful connections are made., • Advocate for program participants to achieve personal goals and navigate barriers such as fear, stigma, and communication challenges with community providers., • Attend and actively participate in training, team meetings, and supervisory sessions., • Develop short-term, person-centered treatment plans to help participants achieve their goals., • Perform ongoing needs assessments to ensure continuous community integration and support., • Monitor and document participants' progress, adjusting plans as needed to reflect their needs and preferences., • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of participant information in the electronic health record., • Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements:, • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, or higher., • New York State Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Coach/Peer Advocate, or Certified Recovery Coach preferred., • Experience providing advocacy services to individuals with behavioral health diagnoses (mental illness and/or substance use)., • Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness or have been involved or impacted by the legal-justice system., • Willingness to travel by public transportation through Manhattan; field-based work required., • Passion for working in the community., • Demonstrated ability to effectively use personal story and role model recovery to promote personal growth and empowerment., • Knowledge of resources within communities of focus., • Ability to manage multiple tasks and seek assistance when needed., • Strong ability to collaborate within a team to work toward shared goals and accomplish tasks., • Serve as a role model to participants, staff, and community stakeholders., • Ability to engage with all community stakeholders (participants, families, network, government staff, law enforcement) in a caring, respectful manner, considering cultural differences., • Capability to manage an ongoing caseload effectively., • Knowledge of treatment, rehabilitation, and community support programs relevant to participants and their families., • Familiarity with techniques for identifying risk, including crisis management strategies.

Job DescriptionDescription: We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist for our Serving Youth in their Communities (SYNC) program. In this role, you will be responsible for providing behavioral services for youth/young adults, ages 0-21 in a variety of community-based settings (i.e. home, school, afterschool programs, etc.). The Behavioral Health Specialist will model & support clients with developing coping and social skills, and emotional regulation to promote independence and reduce the risk of needing a higher level of care. Additionally, they will collaborate with clients, families, and other service providers to identify strengths and develop behavior management plans to help stabilize the youth/young adults in their home, school, and community settings. Responsibilities: · Assists client and family members with identifying triggers and supports. · Complete assessments and consents with youth/young adult and caregivers. · Maintains consultative working relationships within the administration and countywide agencies. · Participates in weekly treatment team and individual supervision for case consultation and to ensure that regulations are followed. · Maintains required face-to-face hourly contact with child/family as set in the individual service plan. · Alerts supervisor of any critical incident involving children enrolled in services and provides linkage to crisis services as needed. · Coordinates communication between services as needed by enrolled families to ensure transition to and enrollment in services. · Completes required paperwork in a timely fashion in keeping with agency and other regulations. · Must be able to operate an agency vehicle and possess a valid NYS operator’s license with a driving history acceptable to the Agency. · Must be able to climb and descend stairs without assistance in settings not in compliance with or under the mandates of the Americans with Disability Act.
