Job Description The Commercial Credit Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and structuring commercial loans, evaluating credit worthiness, assessing risk and the repayment capacity analysis of borrowers, and preparing transaction justification for moderately complex/complex loan transactions. Essential Duties • Reviews loan package and provides conditions to close or underwrite and structure of straightforward and complex credit transactions with minimal oversight., • Evaluates credit worthiness, analyzing the overall financial strength and weaknesses of each borrower through review of current and historical financial information and decisioning on whether a client should receive a credit facility., • Prepares accurate, objective, and cogent credit write-ups based upon in-depth analysis of financial data within established time limits and keep credit risk ratings current throughout the life of the loan and borrower banking relationship., • Identifies loans for exceptions while ensuring proper procedures are followed for approval and documentation and provides in-depth analysis of financial statements, cash flow, tax returns, and third-party credit reports to assess the financial and credit risk of borrower and guarantor., • Structure loans within loan policy, within specified limits for proper approval., • Delivers financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analysis to team members to support the loan decision-making process while providing stellar customer service to customers by effectively explaining credit decisions., • Maintain knowledge of lending requirements, internal policies and procedures, and compliance and regulatory requirements., • Analyze collateral as a secondary repayment source to assess the secured position of the Bank., • College degree preferred, • Experience with financial analysis., • Working knowledge of commercial lending, e.g. commercial real estate, construction and C&I., • Advanced planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementation skills with little or no supervision., • Professional work environment with moderate noise., • Ability to sit and stand extended lengths of time., • Ability to travel to branches, off-site training, and/or meetings if required EOE m/f/d/v
