Job DescriptionJob Title: Trailer TechnicianJob Description As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, BIT, and DOT inspections on trailers. Your role will include diagnosing and repairing lighting and electrical systems, conducting air brake inspections and repairs, and working with rail gate systems. Responsibilities • Perform preventative maintenance, BIT, and DOT inspections on trailers., • Diagnose, isolate, and repair lighting systems, including shorts and open circuits., • Conduct air brake inspections and repairs, including overhauls, and measure brake lining thickness, drums, and s-cams., • Adjust brakes and replace s-cams, bushings, slack adjusters, relay valves, and air tanks., • Adjust lift-gate platforms and controls, replace rail cables, cylinders, motors, pumps, and relays., • Diagnose mechanical problems and provide mobile operations., • Quote jobs accurately and train new technicians., • Replace suspension components and landing legs, perform axle alignments., • Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless materials.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in trailer repair, wiring harnesses, brake systems, suspension, and welding., • Experience in mechanical and shop fabrication., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints., • Knowledge in diesel and electrical systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Brake Mechanics Certificate is a plus., • Experience in collision repair, dry and refrigerated vans, structure, roll & swing doors, interiors, exteriors, and ceilings is beneficial.
