Position Overview for Manager, Scholar Success The Manager, Scholar Success serves as the primary point of contact between Point Foundation and its scholars, playing a key role in ensuring that each scholar remains on track and engaged throughout their time as a Point Scholar. This person will support scholars in meeting program expectations, understanding scholarship policies, and staying informed about internal and external opportunities. The Manager is also responsible for tracking scholar fulfillment of scholarship requirements and ensuring timely and accurate communication with the scholar community through one-on-one meetings and broader outreach. In addition to direct scholar support, the Manager collaborates with Program Team members to execute impactful programmatic events that foster leadership, connection, and community among Points scholars. In this role, the Manager will bring a strong sense of organization and follow-through to help scholars make the most of their Point experience. Reports to: Director of Scholar Success & Enrichment Status: Full-Time, Exempt Supervises: N/A Location: Remote Candidate must reside within the Los Angeles Metro Area Essential Duties & Responsibilities Scholar Success • Ensure scholars meet program expectations in the areas of engagement, enrollment, and academics through clear communications, written policies, and one-on-one support, • Develop and administer annual surveys to identify potential changes to programming and assess scholar trends, • Oversee the accessibility, distribution, and utilization of Scholar Success resources (e.g. mental health referrals, academic support, career development, emergency funding), • Identify and propose both means and methods of scaling Scholar Success efforts through realized efficiencies and innovations Program Management • Manage and track scholar engagement, enrollment, and academic expectations through the collection and review of required documentation, including transcripts, proofs of enrollment, and surveys (e.g. Mid-Year Survey, End of Year Survey), • Develop and administer a communications plan to ensure scholars are informed of upcoming opportunities and deadlines, • Maintain precise administrative records using Points database systems, • Prepare for and lead interdepartmental Scholar Matters meetings to inform, discuss, and decide upon scholar requests and developments, • Support with virtual and in-person program delivery, as needed, • Assist, as needed, with scholar reimbursement and travel logistics for in-person programming, including NLC, NSO, Dream Day, and career exposure opportunities, • Represent Point at occasional in-person engagements Miscellaneous Collaborate with staff across the organization for cross-functional priorities: • Recruitment and Selection provide application review support, support with the transition from applicant to scholar onboarding, • Development facilitate connections between scholars and donors, coordinate the transition of scholars to alumni at the end of each academic year Requirements • Passion about Points mission and enthusiasm about communicating the organizations philosophy, mission, and values, • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience, • At least two years of experience managing students to meet program outcomes, • Prior experience building positive relationships with college students while holding them accountable to clear expectations, • Prior experience with data collection, reporting, measurement, and evaluation in support of program development and improvement, • Prior experience with database management programs (e.g., Airtable, Salesforce), • Proficiency with MS Office 365 applications (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Outlook) Core Competencies • Knowledgeable about issues impacting LGBTQ+ and ally students, • Consistently prioritize the highest impact work among competing demands to deliver excellent work and results, • Demonstrate accountability and reliability, • Focus on delivering outcomes despite obstacles, • Commit to learning and improvement through reflection and two-way feedback, • Cultivate positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including scholars, to expand impact, • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise tact and diplomacy in a diverse organizational setting This job description provides an overview of the position's scope.
