Job Description Position Summary The IT Operations Coordinator supports the daily operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of the organization’s information technology environment. This role performs hands-on coordination and administration across multiple IT functional areas and serves as the primary on-site point of contact for end-user technical support. The Coordinator resolves the majority of day-to-day hardware, software, and connectivity issues, assists with network and systems administration, and coordinates escalation and specialized support with external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) when required. The role also maintains IT documentation and asset records and ensures the physical and operational readiness of the company’s technology resources. Work is closely managed and performed in a support role on projects and initiatives of limited to moderate complexity. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Systems, Network, & Infrastructure Support • Assist with the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and related infrastructure components., • Support network and systems monitoring activities by reviewing alerts, performance metrics, and availability indicators; escalate anomalies or outages in accordance with established procedures., • Perform on-site “hands-and-feet” support for server rooms, network racks, cabling, patch panels, and related physical infrastructure under the direction of the IT Manager or Manage Service Provider (MSP)., • Assist with routine systems administration tasks, including user account provisioning, endpoint configuration, and basic server or network device maintenance., • Support the implementation and upkeep of baseline security controls to protect systems, networks, and data, including access controls, endpoint protections, and configuration standards., • Participate in backup verification activities and periodic recovery testing to help ensure data protection and business continuity readiness., • Serve as the primary point of contact for most end-user technical support issues, resolving the majority of day-to-day hardware, software, and connectivity requests without MSP involvement., • Collaborate with end users to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues involving hardware, software, networks, and peripherals., • Escalate complex, specialized, or systemic issues to the MSP as appropriate; provide detailed context, documentation, and follow-through to ensure timely resolution., • Monitor internal and MSP-managed ticket queues to ensure service levels and response times are met., • Review resolved tickets for quality and completeness; follow up with users to confirm satisfaction and identify recurring issues., • Analyze ticket trends and patterns; assist with root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring incidents., • Participate in onboarding of new employees by coordinating technology orientation and training, equipment provisioning, and system access., • Coordinate the full lifecycle of IT hardware, including imaging, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and retirement, and ensure that an adequate pool of pre-configured endpoints is available to support business needs., • Will occasionally coordinate shipping of equipment to and from remote staff., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, printers, and AV equipment., • Conduct routine inspections of conference rooms and shared workspaces to ensure audio-visual systems, displays, and connectivity are operational and user-ready., • Create and update user-facing guides and quick-reference materials to support common technology tasks., • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills., • Basic understanding of existing network programs and capabilities., • Excellent workstation and network troubleshooting skills., • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users., • Ability to work on-site in an office environment with frequent movement throughout the facility., • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time during the workday., • Ability to lift, carry, and position IT equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds (e.g., laptops, monitors, printers, networking equipment)., • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to install, connect, or troubleshoot equipment under desks, in conference rooms, or in server and network rooms., • Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed to access cabling, wall-mounted equipment, or AV components., • Ability to perform fine motor tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as connecting cables, handling small components, and using hand tools., • Ability to visually inspect equipment, read technical documentation, and work with screens for extended periods., • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk coordination, or technical operations support., • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments., • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including basic LAN/WAN concepts and printer networking., • Experience using IT ticketing or service management systems., • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve common end-user support issues while effectively leveraging external support resources when appropriate., • CompTIA Network+ certification or willingness to obtain., • Experience supporting AV systems and conference room technology.
