Job DescriptionJob Title: Carpentry Foreman Job Description This role leads and supervises a carpentry crew while performing advanced form, rough, and finish carpentry work. You will coordinate daily activities on site, ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks, and contribute hands-on expertise in building, installing, and finishing a variety of structural and architectural components. Responsibilities • Lead and supervise a carpentry crew to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards., • Plan, organize, and assign daily tasks to crew members based on project requirements and skill levels., • Perform form carpentry, including setting formwork for walls, paving, and suspended decks., • Carry out rough carpentry tasks such as framing, blocking, and structural woodwork., • Execute finish carpentry work, including installing trim, casing, and other detailed finishes., • Set and align door frames accurately to meet specifications and ensure proper operation., • Install metal stud wall framing according to drawings and project requirements., • Hang drywall securely and prepare it for finishing by others as required., • Lay wood decking and ensure proper alignment, spacing, and fastening., • Install wood blocking to support fixtures, equipment, and finishes., • Install doors and associated hardware, ensuring correct fit, function, and finish., • Install trim, casing, and other finish components to achieve a clean and professional appearance., • Install toilet partitions and accessories in restrooms according to layout and specifications., • Hang fiber reinforced panels (FRP) with proper alignment, fastening, and finishing., • Set windows accurately, ensuring plumb, level, and weather-tight installation., • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment, including table saws, chop saws, and other power and hand tools., • Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies at all times to maintain a safe work environment., • Work cooperatively with other crew members and trades to support overall project progress., • Share knowledge of the craft with less experienced team members and be willing to learn new methods and techniques., • Perform tasks using methods and procedures appropriate to your skill level and the complexity of the work., • Supply and properly use personal hand tools necessary to perform assigned carpentry tasks.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in form carpentry, including setting formwork for walls, paving, and suspended decks., • Strong rough carpentry skills, including framing, blocking, and structural woodwork., • Advanced finish carpentry skills, including installation of trim, casing, and detailed finishes., • Ability to set door frames, install doors, and fit associated hardware accurately., • Experience with metal stud wall framing and drywall hanging., • Ability to lay wood decking and install wood blocking to specification., • Experience installing toilet partitions and accessories., • Ability to hang fiber reinforced panels (FRP) and set windows correctly., • Competence in operating and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment, including table saws and chop saws., • Knowledge of and ability to work within OSHA guidelines and follow company safety policies., • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and direct a crew effectively., • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with crew members and other trades., • Willingness to learn new techniques and share knowledge of the craft with others., • Capability to perform tasks using appropriate methods and procedures based on skill level., • Ability and readiness to supply personal hand tools necessary to perform carpentry tasks.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience supervising or leading a carpentry crew on construction projects., • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to established safety procedures., • Strong attention to detail and quality in both structural and finish work., • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and follow project specifications., • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt methods to site conditions., • Reliability and consistency in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a field construction environment where you will supervise and perform hands-on carpentry work on active job sites. You will regularly use tools and equipment such as table saws, chop saws, and a full range of hand tools that you supply. Work typically involves both structural and finish tasks, including formwork, framing, decking, drywall, trim, and fixture installation. You will follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies, working in a setting that emphasizes safe practices, teamwork, and clear communication. Dress is typical for a construction site, including appropriate workwear and safety gear suitable for an active jobsite environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
