Summary/Objective Responsible for supporting Business Unit Controllers and the Corporate Controller with managing accounting functions including general ledger, month-end close, treasury process. Essential Functions • Prepare journal entries and analyze monthly accruals, deferrals and reclassifications in accordance with US GAAP, • Support month-end close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records, • Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and investigate reconciling items to resolution, • Assist with P&L reviews, including variance analysis versus budget and prior periods, • Partner with the Operations and Commercial team to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions and operational activities, • Perform lease analysis on an as needed basis under ASC 842, • Review and approve purchase orders, • Maintain fixed asset schedules including asset additions, disposal, transfers and depreciation, • Maintain daily reconciliation of cash activity in the bank vs recorded in NS general ledger., • Serve as a back-up for financial reporting, • Support for external audits and internal reviews, • Maintain compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP, • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or Finance with strong accounting focus), • 2-4 years of experience (Public Accounting/Big 4 experience preferred), • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, • Advanced proficiency in excel (pivot tables, lookup, data analysis), • Strong attention to detail., • CPA or CPA eligible, • Familiarity with NetSuite (preferred) Key Competencies • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the “big picture”, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, • Ability to work independently, • Willingness to support ad hoc projects and evolving business needs, • Comfortable working cross-functionally with non-finance partners, • Proactive, process-improvement mindset, • Clear written and verbal communication skills Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct reports. Work Environment Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office Physical Demands Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the office. Travel Up to 20% travel may occur. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or Finance with strong accounting focus) and 2-4 years of experience (Public Accounting/Big 4 experience preferred) Preferred Education and Experience CPA license (certified public accountant). Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
