Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Multi-site Child Care Director at the YMCA of the Twin Tiers serves on the leadership team and ensures successful operation of child care services for Cattaraugus County operations. The Multi-site Child Care Director also positions the Y as a community convener and collaborator to address critical social issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Provides oversight of Site Supervisors with accountability for frontline staff performance, retention, and conduct in Cattaraugus County child care school-age childcare (SACC) Y-Care, 21st Century Learning Center grant programs, and LEAPS grant programs. * Supervises assigned School Aged Child Care Site Supervisors to assure effective operations, implementing best practices and sound safety strategies. Addresses the root cause of systemic issues rather than symptoms. * Support Site Supervisors in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, and corrective action of Program Leaders and Aides. This includes ensuring staffing plans meet NYS ratio and supervision requirements at all times, including absences and enrollment changes. * Conduct regular, in-person site audits of assigned programs to ensure compliance with all regulations & procedures. This includes reviewing attendance documents & related billing (SACC), ensuring CACFP menus meet nutritional and documentation requirements, provision of service documentation as required by grantors or OCFS, monitoring training schedules and staff participation/completion, ensuring internal procedures such as check-in/attendance and dismissal procedures are understood, followed, and revisited/reinforced regularly. This function also includes the responsibility for providing site coverage in the absence of a site supervisor or frontline staff, as needed to ensure licensing ratio requirements are met. * Ensures all state regulations are adhered to and maintained at all locations. * Responsible for administering and ensuring accurate and appropriate reporting for all grants related to child care services, including but not limited to 21st Century, LEAPS, and CACFP food reimbursement program. Develops and cultivates relationships with grantors. * Attends state-mandated conference for grant management. * Assists in the development, planning, and operation of the Child Advisory Board for each grant program. * Assists in the creation of organizational policies and structures that remove barriers and foster equity and inclusion for all. * Monitors monthly financial reports to ensure that revenue targets are met and expenses are controlled. * Evaluates program effectiveness through parent, child, and school evaluations and manages outcome measurement. * Takes a leadership role in the Annual Campaign and serves as a Staff Team Captain for the branch. Recruits, on-boards, and develops volunteers from diverse backgrounds for the annual campaign program. Works closely with the Branch Executive Director in meeting the established annual campaign goal. * Participates in branch programs and special events as requested. Acts as Leader on Duty when scheduled. * Maintains an appropriate relationship with community groups and organizations as a representative of the YMCA while exploring opportunities for quality and growth. * Carries out additional responsibilities and assignments deemed necessary by the CEO or YMCA Executive Leadership Team. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: * Developing Self & Others * Engaging Community * Fiscal Management * Collaboration * Communication and Influence * Operational Effectiveness QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in human services, business, social services, or equivalent * Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred. * Minimum of five years of experience in the administration of school-age child care. * Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, YMCA membership practices, program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management, and financial practices. * Understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff. * Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
