Job Description OVERVIEW: The Community Navigator engages homeless young people with the goal of increasing their connection to natural safety nets and access to community resources designed to address the medical, mental health, financial, emergency shelter and other basic living and safety needs of young people on their own. This position will assist homeless youth and young adults in crisis intervention, problem solving, action planning, and skill building, in order to address immediate life and safety issues, reduce the risk of sexual exploitation and abuse, and reduce or prevent incidents of homelessness. In addition to short-term crisis interventions, this position will partner with homeless young people to strengthen their permanent connections with safe and healthy adults already in their lives. The Workforce Navigator is responsible for implementing all aspects of direct service delivery for the Learn 2 Earn 2 Program at The Center for Youth Services. This includes promoting the project, assessing participant skills and needs, helping establish academic and employment plans and goals, providing job-readiness information and supports, maintaining appropriate records and data collection, and identifying quality businesses to offer year-round internship opportunities for youth. In cooperation with the staff at The Center for Youth, the Workforce Navigator acts as a link to community agencies, local businesses and colleges, and Rochester Works!. Job Description OVERVIEW: The Center for Youth's multiple residential programs include Emergency Shelter for youth ages 12-17, Crisis Nurseries for children under 14, and Transitional Living Programs for youth and young adults ages 16-24. All provide emergency and independent living supports and services to runaway and homeless youth (RHY) 7 days a week and all year round. The Overnight RHY Resident Assistant (RA) Float position provides on-site engagement and support that is strength-based and mutually respectful. Residents are approached from an asset-based perspective so that staff can form partnerships that help identify issues, concerns, and needs and then the strategies required to address them. The team's ultimate goal is to provide emergency and transitional care and support to families in crisis and homeless youth in a safe, respectful environment and to work with them to resolve the issues that led to their homelessness so that they can ultimately secure and maintain a stable living environment. The Overnight RHY RA Float position works out of the TLP Devonshire Apartment program, where it provides support and coverage at the other residential sites as needed. This includes transporting youth from the emergency shelter to school when needed. This is a part-time position, Thursday-Saturday, 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, 28.5 hours per week. CCA is seeking individuals with lived experience of the criminal legal system, and who are or are willing to be trained as NYS certified peers [CRPA, CPS, etc]. The Justice Peers will work under the direct supervision of the Project Director to provide intensive 1:1 peer support to at least 25 court involved youth each year. Justice Peers will be responsible for frequent and continuing contact with their participants and families, as well as communicating as needed with school, legal, and court personnel. It is expected that at a minimum Justice Peers will act as systems navigators, accompany youth to appointments [medical, mental health, educational, etc.], and to court dates, facilitate engagement with pro-social activities as proposed by the YAB, and engage with youth wherever they are, be that in community or visiting while detained or incarcerated. Each Justice Peer will be responsible for creating and supporting their participants’ individualized goals, keeping accurate data, and other duties as assigned by the Project Director. Justice Peers must be certified or willing to seek NYS Peer Certification [CRPA, CPS, etc] within 6 months of beginning employment, and complete additional training specific to the role of a “Justice Peer” as such training becomes available. CCA will cover the costs of all required staff training during employment. Job Description OVERVIEW The Hours are as follows: Sunday, Monday and Thursday- 10pm-6am, Wednesday-8am-6pm The Counseling and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Department provides a continuum of essential services to the most vulnerable youth in our community, including two crisis nurseries, an emergency shelter, permanent and transitional housing, a food and clothing pantry, street outreach, and support for minor victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The emergency shelter team provides survival-support services to runaway and homeless youth 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, year-round. Staff engage and establish mutually respectful, trusting relationships with youth. Youth are approached from a strengths-based perspective. The goal is to provide emergency care and support to RHY in a safe, respectful environment and to work with them to resolve the issues that led to their homelessness so that they can ultimately secure and maintain a stable living environment. The Supervisor assists the Manager with oversight of operations and programming at The Center House, with special emphasis on the overnight shifts. Duties include assisting with supervision, training, and coaching of overnight staff; administrative assignments; facility management, and direct client care. This position is full-time at 38 hours per week and includes three overnight shifts and one day shift per week. Flexibility is required to provide supervision and training at least twice a month to overnight staff who work different shifts throughout the week.
