Job Description: A vacancy has arisen to lead the TSEDR2 team (Antenna System Design and Validation Spain), reporting to the Head of TSEDR – Antennas and RF products. The mission of the TSEDR2 group is to deliver ongoing antenna projects, support future business by actively participating in the ongoing proposal campaigns and develop the product portfolio to serve future customer needs; in coordination with the other teams within TSEDR and TSED/TSE. The TSEDR department has been recently created in order to bring together the antenna engineering activities across the Digital Payload Centre of Competence (Co C). The TSEDR department is a transnational team performing the design, development and validation of world leading spacecraft Antenna systems and equipment. The main focus of the group is advanced active antennas for communications payloads deploying the latest digital and analogue beam forming systems, along with other legacy products. The TSEDR team is responsible for all Antenna hardware design, development and validation and management of the Airbus antenna product portfolio and lifecycle (technology development, obsolescence etc). The group performs detailed mechanical, electrical and RF design and validation of Airbus payload antenna products. The department also delivers engineering support to manufacturing and test campaigns at both equipment and payload level across a range of antenna products. The TSEDR team is composed of: TSEDR1 – Antenna System Design and Validation UK TSEDR2 – Antenna System Design and Validation Spain TSEDR3 – Antenna Hardware Design Germany TSEDR4 – Antenna Hardware Design UK Active antenna project managers Subject matter experts (Experts and Senior Experts) Business manager dedicated to the group We are looking for motivated and experienced candidates willing to lead the TSEDR2 group, which comprises a team of approximately 20 engineers. This position will require security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognized authorities. RESPONSIBILITIES Set and achieve departmental goals and objectives, aligned with the overall mission and strategy of the Co C. Manage the resources of the department, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to ensure efficient operation. Build and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them achieve their individual and departmental goals. Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant Airbus standards. Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency, implementing changes to drive continuous improvement. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, senior leaders, customers, and partners, to ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the Co C. Accountable for vetting inputs from the department into bids. Accountable for the product roadmap in the perimeter. Give meaning and keep teams engaged. Report as required to the Head of Antennas and RF products (TSEDR). Main interfaces of the role are with other TSED and TSE entities, with the TST organization and with external customers. SKILLS Experience 7 years minimum in team management and/or Technical lead / Project Management of complex / advanced systems and/or projects in the following domains: Space system telecommunication architectures and performance Advanced payload solutions or payload equipment (passive/active antennas, digital processing/beam‑forming, RF analogue products) System Engineering: from design through to manufacturing and test/validation Project management experience is desirable Technical Knowledge Telecommunication antennas and/or payload equipment (Active RF equipment, high speed digital processor solutions, active antennas, passive antennas …) System/payload /software/hardware engineering life cycle Space Quality standards Personal skills Ability to lead a multi‑skill team within a complex multiple stakeholders’ environment Strong sense of commitment and engagement to deliver OCOTOQ Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize Capable of working autonomously against tight deadlines Change mindset, capability to challenge established ways of working Qualification A degree in Electrical, Electronic engineering, Physics Desirable: RF/microwave/digital / radio communications/space communication Systems content Language Skills English: Negotiation level Other information Full time job Occasional travel within Europe and worldwide WHICH BENEFITS WILL YOU HAVE AS AIRBUS EMPLOYEE?
