\n\n \n \n Job Introduction\n At Turning Point, we support people across The UK with Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Learning Disabilities. As a Youth Support Worker, you will ensure that young people living in Turning Point’s supported accommodation are supported to thrive and reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, increasing their independency to create a positive move on into the community. \n As a Youth Support Worker, you will join The Lancashire Young People supported accommodation services that supports 18 young people (Aged 16- 21) at our service in Leyland, The Mill. \n \n \n \n Role Responsibility\n You will be supporting Young People to manage their finances, gain independent living skills, promote health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices as well as supporting them to maximise their involvement in local training, education, and employment opportunities. \n The role is changeable, and every day will be different, some examples of what you will be responsible for are: \n\n • Managing the referrals, sign up, support and move on for the Young People\n, • Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and risk assessments focussing on young people’s needs, strengths and goals.\n, • Providing support with budgets and finances\n, • Provide an excellent rent / service charge collection service, ensuring regular accounts monitoring and contact with people regarding payments\n, • Completing accurate and detailed daily records for the Young People\n, • Providing practical support and guidance to the Young People including daily living skills, cooking, cleaning, and ‘moving on’ plans\n, • Ensuring proactive and constructive communication to the Young People including facilitating weekly key-working sessions, problem solving and supporting with their day-to-day needs\n, • Supporting the Young People and landlords with housing management tasks addressing practical aspects of living in supported housing, including managing repairs, tenancies, income and anti-social behaviour.\n, • Prioritising your own case load and using your initiative to plan and implement agreed actions\n, • Building and maintaining relationships with a range of other professionals to work together to aim for positive outcomes for the Young People\n, • Facilitating and arranging engaging activities with tenants throughout the year.\n, • To work alongside colleagues, and management in shaping and developing the way we provide and manage our schemes, including improvements to processes and how we work with young people\n, • Following organisation policies and procedures to ensure compliance of the service\n \n \n \n \n Turning Point \n \n \n \n \n Attached documents\n \n • \n \n Youth Support Worker JD.pdf\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n Apply \n \n \n
