Sands End Arts & Community Centre (SEACC), an independent charity (charity no. 1191900), are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking individuals to join our in-house café, The Walnut Tree Café. About the Walnut Tree Café The Walnut Tree Café is open 7 days a week and serves food and beverages to the local community. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating on the corner of South Park, it is a popular amenity for local people and is the main hub of SEACC. The person we are looking for: This is an exciting opportunity for a trained barista with excellent people skills and at least 2 years experience of working as a barista. We are seeking 1 person to join the team on a casual contract with approximately 20 hours per week available - weekday shifts are currently a priority. Main areas of responsibility, including but not limited to: Opening and closing the Walnut Tree Cafe Taking orders and receiving payments Making coffee to a professional standard Speaking and interacting with both new and regular customers Maintaining a clean and sanitized working environment Regularly performing stock checks and placing new orders Following recipes and presentations for food and beverage items Being aware of and following operational policies and procedures Being punctual and maintaining regular and consistent attendance The ability to work flexible hours and shifts which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays Contributing to a positive work environment The successful applicant will have the following attributes: Essential: Previous experience of working as a barista. If you do not have experience of working with speciality coffee you will not be considered Clear communication skills Food Hygiene Level 2 Barista training Desirable: Experience of working with young adults with Learning Disabilities Experience of working within a community centre or community café Can easily commute to the centre
The All Age Disability (0-25) / Learning Disability (25+) service provides a comprehensive and integrated social care pathway for Children and Young People with Disabilities and for adults with Learning Disabilities. The Assistant Practitioner role is assigned cases on a rolling basis to review clients to ensure outcome focused goals are being achieved in order to increase or maintain their independence and wellbeing. To provide support to the Social Workers within the team, aiding them in implementing support plans and supporting service users with achieving their identified goals. Providing interventions as part of the review function for the service; completing strength based review documents and updating outcome focused support planning and take part in safeguarding enquiries as appropriate.
