You will support the installation, servicing, and maintenance of stairlifts in domestic environments.No previous experience with Stairlifts is required, as full manufacturer and in-house training will be provided. The role is ideal for someone with a practical, hands-on background who is looking to develop a long-term career in electromechanical field service engineering.You will work in customers homes, helping to ensure mobility equipment is installed safely, operates reliably, and meets required safety standards, directly improving independence and quality of life for end users.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation and commissioning of stairlifts and hoist systems under guidanceCarry out servicing and basic maintenance of mobility equipmentSupport diagnosis of electrical and mechanical faults (training provided)Respond to service calls and breakdowns alongside experienced engineersMaintain accurate service records and job documentationEnsure all work is carried out safely and in line with company proceduresDeliver professional and respectful customer service in private homesParticipate in a structured 1-in-4 on-call rota (once trained)Candidate RequirementsEssentialStrong practical or hands-on ability (engineering, mechanical, electrical, or similar background preferred)Interest in learning electrical and mechanical systemsGood problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently once trainedConfident and professional communication skillsFull UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one)Willingness to work in customer-facing environmentsDBS check (or willingness to undergo one)Desirable (not essential)Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical principlesPrevious experience in engineering, construction, maintenance, or installation rolesAny technical qualifications (college, apprenticeships, NVQ, etc.)Manual handling awareness or trainingExperience working in customer-facing rolesTraining & DevelopmentFull manufacturer training on stairlift and hoist systemsStructured onboarding with experienced field engineersOngoing technical development and progression opportunitiesProgression pathway into fully qualified Field Service Engineer roleBenefitsStable entry into a specialist engineering sectorFull training provided from day oneCompany van, tools, and equipment suppliedOvertime and call-out earnings available after training periodLong-term career progression opportunitiesVaried, hands-on work across domestic environmentsWork that has a direct positive impact on customers independenceReady to begin your career as a Stairlift Installation Engineer?
