Psychology Graduate - SEN Support Role (Primary & Secondary) Location: Bath Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time Salary: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience) The Role We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Psychology Graduate to join a supportive mainstream school in Bath, working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across both primary and secondary age groups. In this role, you will primarily support pupils who have experienced trauma, often presenting with needs similar to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play an important part in helping students feel safe, understood, and able to engage positively with their learning. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN Support students with trauma-related needs and ASC-like presentations Assist in delivering personalised interventions to support learning and emotional development Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social interaction skills, and confidence Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams Contribute to maintaining a calm, structured, and nurturing environment Track and report on student progress and wellbeing The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A degree in Psychology or a related discipline A strong interest in SEN, mental health, and child development An understanding of trauma-informed approaches (desirable but not essential) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A resilient, patient, and proactive approach Experience working with children or young people (advantageous but not essential) What the School Offers A welcoming and inclusive school environment Support from an experienced and collaborative SEN team Ongoing training in SEN, ASC, and trauma-informed practice Excellent experience for those pursuing careers in Educational Psychology, Teaching, or Therapy The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils' lives Why Apply? Essential Criteria: • Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30, • Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa, • Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years, • Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one* *Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
