A beautician is a trained professional who provides a range of beauty and wellness treatments for their clients. To become a beautician, a level 2 or a level 3 beauty certificate is required. The undertaken course or diploma must be recognised by an accredited body. Having GCSE completed certificates helps expedite the candidate’s enrolment process. One can also start a beauty and wellness job by becoming an assistant at a spa, salon or a beauty clinic. 

There are many types of jobs available in the beauty & wellness realm. Ranging from hairstyling, beauticians, aestheticians, nail technicians, makeup artists, skincare specialists etc. Qualifications for such jobs may vary and depend on the specialisation. The average hourly salary in the beauty & wellness industry is about £10.50/hour.
