The role In this exciting period of transformation, Orbit Group are delighted to be recruiting for a PMO Lead to join us on an FTC until May 2028, to run a Programme Management Office (PMO) to support one of our major transformation programmes, enabling our colleagues to deliver significant improvements in our customer experience. The PMO Lead will act as the primary PMO partner for Orbit's Everyday Excellence Programme. Embedded in the Programme Delivery team, the PMO Lead will act as the link, and report in to, our central Transformation PMO. The role will establish a mature governance, reporting and dependency management framework for the programme, and will play a key role in accurately forecasting and tracking successful delivery against the plan and programme outcomes. This role is part of our Transformation, Technology and Data Team, where you'll help us give colleagues the infrastructure, support and insight they need to be brilliant. This is a hybrid working role with 2-3 days per month based out of our Coventry office (subject to business need). What you'll achieve The PMO lead will be responsible for implementing PMO standards, processes and controls across the programme and maintaining alignment with Orbit’s governance frameworks (Group standing orders, procurement regulation, data governance, change methodology). Governance: Design and implement a timetable of governance boards, scrums and other programme delivery focussed forums, ensuring that appropriate stakeholders are identified for each. Reporting: Establishing a suite of accurate progress reports/ dashboards on delivery status, outcomes, financials and resourcing. Working with senior stakeholders to ensure all reports are fit for purpose and objective. Stakeholder engagement: Act as the PMO partner and trusted advisor for the programme, building strong relationships with Programme Leads, Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Finance, HR, Commercial, Governance, Audit and Risk teams Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to mature PMO practices, tools, templates, and reporting. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the programme and with stakeholder groups, contributing to the maturity of the central change toolkit to share best practice. Programme Team Development: To oversee development of our project support resources, inputting into development plans. Provide feedback and training for wider programme resources, to improve standards and consistency in the use of programme management products. Budget Management, Workforce & Resource Management and Supplier Contracts What you'll bring Essential skills Experience of working as a lead PMO/PMO manager in a transformation environment Working closely with technology teams using Agile delivery methodology and associated tools, you will have experience of Jira, DevOps (or similar) and a good level of experience of project reporting and resource capacity planning tools.
