Cooneen at Work are hiring an Embroidery and Alterations machinst to join our team in Wrexham. The role is primarily focussed on embroidery work, with responsibility for a range of sewing and garment alteration tasks. Responsibilities Create and prepare number patterns for embroidery Set up and operate embroidery machines, ensuring correct calibration for each job Select appropriate threads, fabrics, hoops, and designs in line with job specifications Carry out embroidery work accurately and efficiently, maintaining consistent quality Monitor embroidery processes to ensure designs meet required standards Identify and resolve minor machine issues and escalate faults where necessary Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance Track work orders and update records as required Carry out garment alterations, including, but not limited to, taking up trousers; and taking in or adjusting waistlines Ensure all alterations are completed neatly, accurately, and to customer specifications Work with a variety of fabrics and garments, maintaining a high standard of finish To identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility Any other duties deemed necessary by management. Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security. Requirements Essential Previous experience working with industrial sewing machines. Proven sewing skills with experience in garment alterations High level of attention to detail and quality control Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Good organisational skills and ability to follow job instructions Comfortable working in a production environment Previous experience operating embroidery machines Desirable Experience with detailed, specialist garment alterations or workwear A blend of practical, technical, and artistic skills We reserve the right to enhance criteria on shortlisting
