Overview Barts Health NHS Trust provides maternity and neonatal care for women and birthing people and their babies each year, providing all aspects of obstetrics and midwifery care in our labour ward, midwife-led birth centre and home birthing service. About the Mental Health Youth Work Service Pilot The prevalence of reported mental health challenges in children and young people living in England have been increasing. In addition, research tells us that children and young people facing such challenges with their mental health are more likely to self-harm. For some children and young people, A&E Departments may be a first point of contact with healthcare services following self-harm. While in recent years the number of attendances by children and young people for mental health needs and/or self-harm have stabilised, there was a sharp increase in attendances following the pandemic. For children and young people who have gone to A&E for support with their mental health, such as following self-harm, waiting a long time in A&E can be hard. A&E Departments are often very busy and loud places and there is not always access to secluded space for those who have gone to A&E when experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Children and young people who are also neurodiverse may find the environment particularly challenging and overstimulating while they are waiting to access care and support. This pilot aims to strengthen the offer of support to young people aged 11-18 in A&E, and also consider the wider social and emotional wellbeing needs of those individuals whilst in that environment and following discharge by ensuring there is follow up support for a variety of services. The Mental Health Youth Work Service model has been informed by young people with experience of hospital attendances after self-harming, and their feedback has been used to shape the care we aim to deliver. The service runs across two hospital sites in London: King’s College Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There will be a team consisting of one Senior Youth Worker and a Youth Worker embedded in each site. Where you fit in This is an exciting new service working in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Hospital Accident and Emergency Department. Responsible to: Service Manager Purpose The Case Manager will strive to make contact and work on a one to one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified as high risk at MARAC to pro- actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and link to complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with existing agencies in each pilot site to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. Throughout the intervention the Case Manager will work closely with the IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved. The Case Manager will be responsible over the long term for delivering outcomes, to achieve behaviour change with each service user. Responsibilities Interagency work • Work to embed the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area., • Effective understanding and implementation of institutional advocacy by pro- socially challenging partner agencies, acknowledging best practice and striving for change to benefit the individual, the service and the sector., • Support other professionals in responding to service users in a way that is coterminous with the aims and ethos of the Drive Project., • Working closing with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met., • Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse., • Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer., • Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the service user., • Be flexible and willing to work in all types of environments. Job Description: About the role Every day, tenants across England & Wales are living with mould, broken heating, and structural damage that their landlords refuse to fix. We exist to change that, and the people who help us reach those tenants matter enormously. As our Community Outreach Executive, you’ll be the person who builds and looks after the relationships that connect us to the communities we serve, both with our partner organisations and directly with tenants experiencing disrepair. Some days that means picking up the phone, others it means getting out to meet partners or clients face to face. You’ll report to our Head of Community Outreach and be part of a team of around 30 people who genuinely care about what they do. What you’ll be doing • Building strong relationships with community organisations, charities, support groups, and local partners to raise awareness of our services and create long-term referral pathways, • Attending weekly community drop-in sessions and outreach events to speak directly with local residents, offer guidance, and help people access the support available to them, • Acting as a friendly and approachable point of contact for both partners and service users — including tenants suffering from disrepair — ensuring people feel listened to, supported, and informed throughout the process, • Staying in regular contact with existing partners, providing updates on shared clients, ongoing cases, and any new developments within the organisation, • Meeting partners and community groups in person to present our services, explain how we can help their members, and strengthen collaborative working relationships, • Identifying new opportunities to engage with local communities and expand awareness of the support we provide, • Keeping accurate records of outreach activity, referrals, and partner engagement using our CRM system What we’re looking for ✓ Someone who is confident and genuinely comfortable speaking with people from all backgrounds, both one-to-one and in group settings ✓ A warm, approachable, and empathetic communicator who enjoys helping people and building trust within local communities ✓ Someone who can confidently attend community drop-ins, networking events, and meetings while representing the organisation professionally ✓ A proactive and relationship-focused individual who understands the importance of ongoing support and long-term community engagement ✓ A creative thinker who enjoys finding new ways to connect with people, build partnerships, and increase awareness of our services ✓ A genuine interest in housing issues, tenant advocacy, and supporting vulnerable individuals within the community ✓ Experience using a CRM system is beneficial — we use Zoho, but any experience logging contacts, referrals, or engagement activity would be helpful What we offer • Competitive bonus scheme — performance-linked bonus on top of your base salary, • Annual leave starting at 21 days + bank holidays, increasing by one day per year of service, plus Christmas closure (no annual leave needed over the festive period), • Pension scheme, • Birthday leave — an extra paid day off to celebrate your birthday, • Early finish Fridays — every Friday finish at 4pm, every week, • Wellbeing support — wellbeing programmes and access to our on-site gym, • Company social events — regular team celebrations and parties throughout the year Benefits: • Company events, • Free fitness classes, • Health & wellbeing programme, • On-site gym Work Location: In person Pay: £28,020.00-£33,000.00 per year
