Who We Are Looking For We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to lead a cross‑functional engineering team responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of next‑generation OTC derivatives workflows across the Charles River platform. The candidate will be part of a global engineering team that will span APAC, EMEA and North America. The candidate will work closely with SMEs, Product Managers, and their own team in an agile environment to deliver a marketleading fronttoback OTC derivatives solution with an added responsibility for ensuring that complex OTC workflows are expressed through intuitive, consistent, and scalable user interfaces. Why This Role Is Important Charles River Development (CRD), acquired by State Street in 2018, delivers enterprise investment management solutions to the world's largest asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth platforms. CRD powers State Street Alpha , the industry's first open fronttoback platform launched in 2019. As OTC Derivatives become more complex and workflows evolve, this role is key to delivering the next generation of intuitive, scalable, cloudnative UIs that support pricing, risk, lifecycle management, and trade capture for derivatives instruments. What You Will Be Responsible For Technical Leadership & Architecture Own the endtoend architecture for OTC derivatives workflows, ensuring scalability, performance, and extensibility across asset classes (Rates, Credit, FX, Equity, Commodities). Lead the design of core OTC workflows, including trade capture, lifecycle events (amendments, resets, compression, netting), clearing, and posttrade processing. Define and evolve system interaction patterns across UI, middleware, APIs, and core services. Ensure architectural alignment between workflow engines, business services, and user interaction models. Drive design reviews and architectural governance in line with enterprise and cloud‑native standards. Delivery & Execution Lead an agile engineering team delivering highquality software from design through production. Ensure that OTC workflows are translated into clear, intuitive, and consistent user experiences, in partnership with UX and UI engineering teams. Partner closely with Product Managers and SMEs to translate complex derivatives workflows into clear technical designs and provide technical and architectural guidance on UI interaction patterns, workflow navigation, and state management for complex derivatives scenarios. Drive technical decisionmaking, design reviews, and architectural tradeoffs. Ensure nonfunctional requirements (performance, resiliency, security, observability) are built into solutions from the outset. People Leadership Line manages and mentor engineers, fostering technical growth and strong engineering practices. Set clear technical direction and expectations while empowering the team to deliver. Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. CrossFunctional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Quant, UX, and Platform teams to deliver cohesive fronttoback OTC solutions. Act as a technical and workflow design point of contact for OTC architecture across engineering, product, and UX teams. What We Value Strong experience designing and delivering OTC derivatives trading or lifecycle systems. Proven experience in technical leadership or team lead roles, with hands‑on architectural responsibility. Solid software engineering background (Java / JVM, distributed systems, APIs, event‑driven architectures). Experience working in agile delivery environments with close product and SME collaboration. Experience collaborating closely with UI and UX teams to deliver workflow‑driven user experiences. Strong problem-solving skills with a mindset for clean, scalable solutions. Experience & Preferred Skills 15+ years of software engineering experience. Experience in managing and developing global teams is required. Hands-on experience building OTC derivatives solutions is required. Familiarity with back-end technologies (Java, Python, SQL) is a plus for integration. Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is beneficial. Understanding of derivatives asset classes such as Rates, Credit, Equity, FX, or Commodities is an advantage. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required. About State Street What we do.
