Service / Maintenance Technician You will be covering a mapped out area of Southampton and surrounding areas Your Plant base is at Marchwood, Southampton Job description: Mobile fitter responsible for maintaining specialist site equipment used on major house building and construction sites. Responsible for training customers operatives in the safe use of this equipment. Key customer service role. Key Responsibilities Working from a fully equipped mobile workshop, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing specialist industrial equipment. Full training will be given providing you with an extensive skill set spanning both mechanical and electrical disciplines. You will also be responsible for training our customer`s operatives in the use of the equipment using a structured training system. Customer care will be your principle priority in ensuring market leading service. Essential Job Requirements Full UK driving licence suitable for 3.5T van (to use personally if required) Previous mechanical or electrical fitting experience would be beneficial but full training will be given. Ability to communicate effectively within a key customer service role. Hours are standard Mon- Friday, 6am - 4pm with overtime paid at time and half, Occasional Saturday mornings are required at busy times. What you'll need to succeed A fully qualified electrician, holding AM2 (or equivalent) and City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Experienced in domestic electrical installations, inspection, and testing to British Standards Knowledgeable about safety and compliance regulations, including all relevant Health & Safety standards Confident working independently, while also collaborating effectively with internal colleagues to ensure jobs are completed and ongoing works are recorded accurately Comfortable working in customers' homes and delivering excellent customer service A strong problem‑solver, with high standards of workmanship and pride in the service you provide Able to work flexibly, including participation in an out‑of‑hours standby rota A clear communicator, both verbally and in writing In possession of a full UK driving licence Willing and able to meet face‑fit requirements What you'll get in return This organisation truly invests in its colleagues, ensuring they have the support, tools, and benefits needed to thrive at work.
