Our client is a family run business, with an amazing product and customer centric approach. They have 160 stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online, International and concessions business. They really care about people, customers, and the communities in which they trade and are now looking for a Commercial FP&A Manager to be based out of their amazing Amersham head office. The role will be hybrid, with a split of three days office, two days working from home. As their Commercial FP&A Manager you will be responsible for delivering actional financial insights, supporting strategic and trading decisions, and driving margin and profitability improvements across channels and categories. You will lead forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis while providing critical support on pricing, promotions, stock planning and supplier negotiations. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will influence key decisions by translating financial data into clear commercial recommendations, helping the business achieve its growth and profitability goals. You'll be a commercially driven finance professional with a strong background in FP&A or commercial finance, ideal gained in within a multi-site retailer or consumer goods environment. You have hands-on experience partnering with Buying and Merchandising teams and a clear understanding of how trading decisions impact sales, margin and stock. You're confident building forecasts, analysing performance and influencing decisions through sharp financial insight. Commercial FP&A Manager – Responsibilities - Preparation and review of Weekly and Monthly Trading reports. - Lead budgeting, reforecasting and financial planning cycles for relevant channels and categories with the buying and merchandising teams. - Monitor and report on KPIs such as intake margin, markdowns, cover and sell through to drive performance. - Collaborate with the Buying and Merchandising teams to improve reporting capabilities and data tools, aligning outputs with overall business strategy. - Provide effective challenge and support to the Chief Product Officer, Buying and Trading Director, highlighting risks and opportunities. - Collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to provide variance analysis on Sales, Margin, Stock and Intake. - Support the Chief Product Officer and Buying Director with supplier analysis to support negotiations/profitability. - Development of Power BI dashboards to support stakeholders with meaningful analysis. - Provide ad hoc analysis or model propositions for promotions, projects and business requests. - Support, Mentor, and Develop Finance Analyst. Commercial FP&A Manager – Required Skills - Proven experience in a Commercial Finance or FP&A role, preferably in retail or FMGC - Strong financial modelling and Excel skills - Strong numerical and commercial acumen with attention to detail - Excellent communication and influencing skills - able to challenge and support non finance stakeholders. - Strong business acumen with understanding of merchandising and buying. - Proven experience business partnering senior business leaders by reporting and clearly explaining financial results and insights. - Experience with using Power BI and building dashboards is desirable. - Proactive, detail-orientated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within retail, FMGC or hospitality multi-site led businesses. - Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
