Our client is a leading UK Design Consultancy delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions across the Built Environment. With a diverse portfolio of projects and a strong client base spanning the industrial, pharmaceutical, residential, commercial, education, defence, probation and domestic sectors, they have built their reputation on quality, trust and long-standing partnerships—many of which extend over generations. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, their York Office is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding team and contribute to a wide variety of exciting projects across Yorkshire and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Civil Engineer with a minimum of three years’ UK industry experience to join a dynamic, collaborative and forward-thinking team. You will play an important role in the design and delivery of projects that make a real impact on communities and the built environment, including new developments, public realm improvements, flood defence schemes, highways and major infrastructure works. The work is varied, technically challenging and rewarding, often involving close collaboration with architects, contractors and local authorities, giving you the chance to see your designs come to life and directly influence the places where people live, learn and work. You will be responsible for detailed design of roads, drainage, infrastructure and site development, preparing drawings, reports and calculations, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. A strong understanding of the development process—from site appraisal through planning, detailed design and construction—is essential, along with experience of Section 104, 38 and 278 works. Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or InfoDrainage is expected, alongside a sound knowledge of SuDS design and relevant approvals processes for highways, earthworks and drainage adoption. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Civil Engineering and demonstrate strong communication skills, technical competence and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude. You should also be working toward Chartership, showing enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and a commitment to maintaining excellent client relationships while supporting colleagues within the team. In return, you will join a supportive and well-established Consultancy that values collaboration, innovation and career growth. The company offers an industry-leading benefits package, competitive salary and structured professional development, along with the opportunity to work on a broad range of stimulating projects across multiple sectors.
