The role We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and positive Kitchen Assistant to join our team. Primarily focused on keeping the kitchen and school hall spaces clean and tidy, staying on top of the washing up and ensuring that the salad bar and water dispensers are well stocked, you may also be asked to help with some basic food prep, baking and cooking. Main responsibilities • Wash up and keep the kitchen clean, tidy, and well organised., • Follow food hygiene, allergen, and health and safety procedures at all times., • Support the wider kitchen team to ensure a calm and efficient service., • Help create a positive mealtime experience for children and staff. The role involves helping young people develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adulthood and independent living. Key responsibilities • Provide practical and emotional support., • Help young people develop independent living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping and managing appointments., • Complete welfare checks and maintain appropriate communication., • Deliver planned keywork sessions in line with individual support plans., • Support education, employment, training and college attendance., • Help young people access healthcare, benefits and other professional services where required., • Promote positive routines, healthy lifestyles, appropriate behaviour and community participation., • Support young people to understand boundaries, responsibilities and house expectations., • Safeguard young people and respond appropriately to concerns, incidents and disclosures., • Follow risk assessments, support plans, safety plans, safeguarding procedures and regulatory requirements., • Complete accurate daily records, incident reports and keywork documentation., • Work collaboratively with social workers, personal advisers, education providers and other professionals., • Maintain professional boundaries and help keep the accommodation safe, clean and appropriately maintained. About you You should be caring, patient, approachable and reliable, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will need to communicate clearly, remain calm in challenging situations, set appropriate professional boundaries and complete accurate written records. Flexibility is required to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts where necessary. Essential requirements • The legal right to work in the UK., • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check, including the appropriate barred-list check where applicable., • Satisfactory references and a full employment history., • An understanding of safeguarding young people., • Good written and verbal communication skills., • Basic IT skills for recording and reporting. Desirable experience and qualifications • Experience working with young people, care leavers or vulnerable adults., • Experience in supported accommodation, residential care, youth work or social care., • A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People, Health and Social Care, or a related subject., • Knowledge of safeguarding, contextual safeguarding, exploitation and trauma-informed practice., • Experience completing keywork sessions, risk assessments and support plans., • A full UK driving licence.     We are looking for a proactive, organised and reliable support worker to join a supported accommodation team. The role focuses on supporting residents to develop greater independence, maintaining safe and well-managed accommodation, and keeping accurate records. Resident support • Conduct regular face-to-face support sessions with allocated residents., • Complete and review Individual Support Plans and Support & Move-On Plans within required timescales., • Maintain accurate support logs and electronic resident records., • Help residents develop independent living and life skills, including budgeting and financial management., • Assist with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit matters, rent arrears and benefit issues where required., • Support residents with education, training, employment, housing and move-on options., • Encourage residents to engage with agreed support plans., • Identify safeguarding or welfare concerns and escalate them appropriately., • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Property and accommodation • Carry out regular checks of allocated properties, including communal, internal and external areas., • Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues, property damage and health and safety concerns., • Follow up reported repairs and liaise with the maintenance team regarding outstanding works., • Check that rubbish is managed and that fire exits, escape routes and communal areas remain clear., • Check that required property and fire safety signage is displayed., • Assist with move-in and move-out checks, including checking furniture, equipment and other property items., • Take photographs and record evidence of property issues where required., • Keep property inspection and maintenance records up to date., • Report compliance concerns promptly to management. Administration and communication • Update internal trackers and databases., • Ensure support documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales., • Monitor outstanding actions and follow them through to completion., • Communicate effectively with management, administration and other members of the support team.
