Project Overview: For more than 70 years, Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) has assisted the UK Government's nuclear defence strategy and the Continuous at Sea Deterrent. Bechtel provides integrated, co-located, Client-side Technical Advisory Services (TAS) for this nationally important and varied multi-year infrastructure investment, which is excitingly just in its early phases, proudly bringing our extraordinary team to build this inspirational project. In this role, we are providing support to the Client as part of the Technical Advisory Services (TAS) team, including oversight and management of the Delivery Partner team overseeing the project works. This includes support within work planning and packaging, material management, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will significantly contribute to project-related activities being undertaken with the AWE Intelligent Customers objectives, Construction Logistics efficiencies, Early Contractor Involvement insights and best practices from similar global projects in mind. Job Summary: In this role, you will liaise between Client Construction, Engineerering and Project Management teams, design partner organisations as well as sub-tier supply chain to provide guidance on executing constructability plans. You will advise on construction design decisions, interdisciplinary reviews, and project construction planning, value engineering, industrialization and modern methods of construction. You will use your expertise, as well as reaching back into Bechtel organisation, to identify improvements to Client construction strategies to assist in the Client transition to a functional and programmatic delivery approach. "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” Major Responsibilities: General • Role supports delivery of large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders' involvement., • Construction Planning, • Reviews supplier construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements., • Reviews supplier construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements., • Advises on implementation of policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management., • Works with Construction and Design organisations to advise on CDM related safety., • Coordinates with Design organisations on constructability issues Project specific • Develops and disseminates Constructability Review Matrix., • Develops and delivers the Constructability awareness training and/or enterprise or project supervisory and technical training, • Coordinates with projects to implement Quality Management System on project Education and Experience Requirements: • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and relevant experience in buildings, mechanical & electrical and civil infrastructure Required Knowledge and Skills: • Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Philosophy., • Knowledge of ES&H Handbook, Supervisors ES&H Manual, Project Safety Management Plans and Bechtel Core Processes., • Knowledge of the Project Construction Quality and Environmental Control Plans., • Knowledge of all phases of infrastructure construction, including the field activities in all engineering disciplines, planning and sequencing, construction technologies and jobsite management., • Computer literate with written and oral communication skills., • Ability to analyse data and interpret findings to enable forward planning., • Ability to prepare and present key information, findings and options to Client leaders., • Ability to search for and compile different sources of data, and to create reports that summarize options and recommendations for critical decision making., • Have a flexible nature, with the ability take on additional responsibilities across various evolving work packages in keeping with the Client's requirements and to support the success of the whole team.
