Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role will involve managing long-term conditions, wound care, vaccinations, cytology, child immunisations, contraception, and various other clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care and contributing to the success of our practice. Key Responsibilities: • Clinical Care:, • Long-term condition management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension), • Wound care, including the removal of sutures/clips, • Urinalysis, ECGs, Spirometry, and other diagnostic tests, • Cervical cytology smear tests and routine health screenings, • Administering vaccinations (Routine/Child Immunisations), • Contraception advice and administration, • Travel clinic support, • Chaperoning and assisting patients as necessary, • Collection of swabs, specimens, and blood samples, • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS (transitioning to SystmOne from January 2026), • Practice Support:, • Maintaining and cleaning equipment and treatment rooms, • Ordering and managing stock, including vaccinations and medical supplies, • General housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and organized environment, • Participating in Practice meetings, clinical audits, and shared learning activities, • Collaborating with GPs and other healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, • Supporting safeguarding and responding to national policies and initiatives, • Quality and Performance:, • Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Practice Enhanced Payment (PEP) targets, • Support with clinical audits and continuous improvement activities, • Ensure compliance with infection control procedures Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience as a Practice Nurse or in a similar clinical setting Strong knowledge of long-term condition management (e.g., Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension) Proficiency in wound care, cytology, child immunisations, and vaccinations Experience using clinical systems (EMIS; SystmOne from 27/01/2026) Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and handle confidential patient information Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to cover for staff holidays/sickness as required Why Join Us? • Supportive and collaborative team environment, • Opportunity to make a real difference in patient care, • Involvement in ongoing training, clinical audits, and shared learning, • Access to resources for career development and growth Additional Information: This is a full-time position with flexible working hours to ensure sufficient cover for staff absences.
