As a Relief Recovery Worker, you will provide specialist one-to-one therapeutic support to people accessing addiction services in both residential and day care settings. Working flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals to build confidence, explore challenges and work towards positive change in a safe, respectful and non-judgemental environment. This is a relief role, offering flexible working to support service delivery as required. What you will do • Deliver individual therapy sessions to people affected by substance use, • Work within agreed therapeutic approaches, including REBT and CBT principles, • Meet with individuals prior to therapy to explain the process and establish goals, • Create a safe, supportive and non-threatening space for therapeutic work, • Monitor progress and adapt sessions to meet agreed objectives, • Share relevant feedback with colleagues to support joined-up care, • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with professional standards, • Contribute to reviews, assessments and relevant meetings as required About you You will be compassionate, professional and confident delivering one-to-one therapeutic support, with a genuine interest in supporting people affected by addiction. You may hold a relevant qualification such as SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, counselling or addictions training, or have equivalent experience, and you will bring a thoughtful, reflective approach to your practice. You will be comfortable working flexibly, able to manage boundaries and confidentiality, and confident using basic IT systems for record keeping and learning. role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC, or willingness to register.
