Vacancy: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Join an Independent, Multi-Disciplinary Practice in Debenham, Suffolk Location: Debenham, Suffolk • 58min to 1hr 15min from London Liverpool Street to Ipswich by train, • 45min from the coast | 1hr from Norwich Who We Are We are a friendly, independent veterinary practice nestled in beautiful rural Suffolk. Our multi-disciplinary, single-site team includes six first opinion vets, four ophthalmologists, an orthopaedic/soft tissue referral team, 20 Registered Veterinary Nurses, trainee/student nurses and animal care assistants. We pride ourselves on our supportive culture and commitment to clinical excellence. Clinical Excellence & Our Team Experienced and collaborative clinicians (totaling over 100 years' experience between them) Weekly whole-team meetings for practice continuity and communication Fortnightly first opinion clinical meetings (journals, case discussions, presentations, general CPD) , Dedicated support from experienced RVNs and referral veterinarian teams Our Facilities 8 consulting rooms & 4 surgical theatres Separate dog and cat wards for stress-free stays On-site advanced imaging: CT, Ultrasound, Digital X-ray (including dental) Comprehensive endoscopy and laparoscopic equipment Respiratory ventilators & multi-parameter monitoring Well-equipped laboratory for rapid diagnostics, onsite cytology service Life at Debenham Our practice is dedicated to providing genuine continuity of care, with a flexible, understanding approach to work-life balance. Hours Weekends On-Call Saturdays 4-day week (8am-6pm) 1 in 6 (Fri night–Mon morning) 4 weeknights in 6 weeks No additional Saturday work We believe in fair, reasonable out-of-hours care. Our clients respect boundaries and only contact us when truly urgent. If you are up all night, rest assured we’ll accommodate rest time the following day.
