Cumming Management Group, a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors. Cumming Management Group are seeking to recruit an Associate Cost Manager in Manchester/Stoke-on-Trent. The role of an Associate Cost Manager includes the following responsibilities: • The individual will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of various projects, • Provide cost management services through pre and post contract process, • To support clients and the team in client presentation and new works, • To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances, • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures, • Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies, • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards, • Develop relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, • Drafting, advising and executing the procurement strategies Key Attributes: The ability to – • Preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisals, • Preparation of elemental cost plans, • Provide advice and opinion in respect of our client development plans and expectations, • Market testing of key elements for the developments, • Data analysis on design efficiencies, benchmark comparison, • Preparing and issuing tender documents, • Running tender processes including managing queries from tendering contractors, • Scrutinising and verifying applications for interim payments, • Managing change control in accordance with contracts, • Producing cost reports and cost forecasting, • Assisting project managers in preparing Early Warnings, Instructions and Compensation Events, • Promote commercial awareness throughout project, • Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team, • Developing Commercial Strategies Qualifications & Skills: • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline, • Strong technical delivery experience, • Experience in hotel and residential projects desirable, • MRICS or working towards Chartered status, • Excellent written and communication skills, • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner, • Strong cost planning experience, • Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services, • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of delivery, • Previously employed by a consultancy or end user client, • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines Cumming Management Group is committed to creating a diverse workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
