Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 Location: Manchester, UK (hybrid) Contract: Full time, permanent Start Date: Immediate The Role As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising the infrastructure and tooling that powers Suits Me’s financial technology ecosystem. You’ll take ownership of significant components within our AWS-based platform, driving improvements in scalability, resilience, and developer productivity. You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and product teams to evolve our cloud-native platform, enabling rapid, secure delivery of innovative financial products. This role is ideal for an experienced platform or DevOps engineer who thrives on automation, system reliability, and working in an event-driven, service-oriented environment. What you’ll be doing • Designing and implementing AWS infrastructure and services using IaC (e.g. Terraform, CDK), • Owning and improving CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to streamline secure, automated deployments, • Building and managing observability tooling (e.g. CloudWatch, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) for proactive system monitoring and alerting, • Developing event-driven containerised and serverless systems using Lambda, ECS and EKS, • Championing reliability and security, embedding best practices in identity management, network design, and compliance, • Collaborating with development squads to optimise service delivery, improve environment consistency, and evolve shared infrastructure patterns, • Contributing to architectural decisions, helping shape the future of our platform to support multi-region scalability and regulatory resilience, • Documenting and mentoring, supporting knowledge sharing within the engineering community What you’ll bring to Suits Me • 3+ years' experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles, • Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services (security, networking, compute, storage and monitoring), • Proven track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes, • Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar), • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes), • Working knowledge of scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation and tooling, • Understanding of networking, IAM, and security fundamentals in a regulated fintech or payments context, • Passion for automation, reliability, and DevEx - constantly looking to reduce friction and improve system resilience, • Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset, comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams Standout candidates will also... • Have contributed to large-scale, event-driven, or serverless architectures, • Understand regulated fintech environments, particularly FCA / PCI DSS, • Be experienced with GitOps and infrastructure delivery pipelines (e.g. ArgoCD), • Be familiar with cost optimisation and performance tuning in cloud environments, • Demonstrate leadership in technical initiatives or mentoring junior engineers Benefits • Competitive salary, • 30 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays, • Opportunity to work on impactful systems that make a real social difference, • Structured career path with support for continuous learning and development
