We achieve excellent academic results and offer a broad and stimulating variety of co-curricular activities. We are looking for a talented and caring Deputy Pre School Lead to join our team in Pre School for a period of maternity cover.Silcoates is set in 52 acres of grounds in Wrenthorpe, near Wakefield, within easy reach of the M1 and M62, offering an all-through, fully co-educational day school experience for children from 3 to 18.This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced practitioner, supporting our Head of EYFS and taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision in order to support and develop our pupils in Pre School. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups of pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.You should hold a minimum Level 6 Childcare Qualification and be able to demonstrate experience in a similar setting. You will need to be a good team player and have the ability to form good relationships with our children and their parents. You should have experience of using a variety of teaching styles and modes of learning and be able to demonstrate familiarity with appropriate learning strategies, including for numeracy and literacy. You should have strong experience of creating a stimulating classroom and learning environment, with a good knowledge and understanding of the development of children between the ages of 3 to 5.The role is a one year fixed term contract from May 2026, working full time Monday to Friday 08.00 to 5.00pm during term time only (35 weeks per year).For full details of this post and to apply please complete an application form, which is available on our website: .
