The Role As a Hydro Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the effective delivery of hydro overhaul, maintenance, and repair projects on hydro generators. Acting as the operational lead on site, you will work closely with the project management team to deliver work scopes efficiently, safely, on time, and on budget. You will also be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities • Oversee all hydro site activities, ensuring daily operations meet engineering plans, project milestones, and quality standards., • Supervise site teams and manage resources, materials, and workforce planning., • Act as the primary site contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and commissioning teams, supporting communication, project close‑out, and lessons learned., • Enforce all health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with legal and company standards., • Provide hands‑on coaching to develop technical and safety capability in hydro generator overhaul and maintenance., • Support project development using technical expertise to progress new and existing hydro opportunities., • Contribute to quotations and estimates by assessing scope, risks, and realistic delivery timescales., • Monitor project costs, drive efficiencies, and flag potential risks to budget or schedule., • Produce high‑quality RAMS and work with the project team to enhance site documentation. Requirements • Demonstrable experience within the hydro project industry., • BTEC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)., • Awareness of financial impacts on project success., • Driven, enthusiastic, and motivated to succeed., • Strong customer focus., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities., • Ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team., • Committed to promoting a culture of continuous improvement., • Ideally experienced in supervising or leading a team., • Willing and able to work on‑site across the UK and internationally.
