Data Centre Engineer M&E Fareham Permanent position £45,000 to £50,000Our client, a leading provider in the data centre sector, is currently seeking a M&E Data Centre Engineer to join their team in Fareham. This permanent role requires you to predominantly be on-site at the Fareham data centre, with occasional travel to the company's other data centres in the Southern region. You will work 12-hour shifts, operating on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, covering both days (6am - 6pm) and nights (6pm - 6am). Key Responsibilities: • Provide first-fix support on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and minor fabric repairs, • Oversee and coordinate contractors, ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met, • Deliver small project works independently and as part of a team, • Offer technical guidance and supervision on larger tasks, • Contribute to reports and audits for the management team, • Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure timely updates across all systems, • Monitor systems, environment, and M&E infrastructure, • Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure facility upkeep and reliability, • Manage stock, assets, and critical spares within the data centre, • Escort and assist third-party vendors and engineers on-site, • Capture and maintain accurate asset data, • Support cross-connects, console access, and power verification activities, • Assist with rack installation, cabling, and hardware deployment, • Provide on-site remote hands/smart hands support for remote IT teams during incidents and requests, • Responsible for undertaking the duties of an LV Authorised person, • Handle confidential information and/or sensitive data in a professional mannerJob Requirements:, • Experience as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer in a critical, industrial, or commercial environment, • Completed electrical apprenticeship or similar - ideally with 18th edition wiring regulations, • Basic IT skills, including Word and Excel, • Experience in L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems, • Currently hold or be able to obtain (eligible for) SC ClearanceBenefits:, • Supportive work environment with a focus on career growth, learning, and development, • Friendly, family-like atmosphere with a dedicated and experienced team, • Comprehensive benefits package including pension, private healthcare, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, EV scheme, and more If you are an experienced M&E Data Centre Engineer looking for a new opportunity to further develop your career, we would love to hear from you.
