Technical Manager\n\nNottingham\n\nSalary: £55,000 – £73,000 with car allowance\n\n+ 22 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + 4.5 Day Week\n\nThe Company\n\nOur client is one of the UK’s largest privately owned manufacturers of critical electrical infrastructure projects\n\nWith over 350 employees, £100m+ turnover and six manufacturing facilities, the business designs, tests, manufactures and installs all products in-house. Their reputation has been built on delivering complex LV power solutions across major projects nationwide.\n\nOperating as part of a specialist division, this team focuses on power quality solutions including Power Factor Correction (PFC) systems, Active Harmonic Filters (AHF), and electrical performance monitoring equipment.\n\nFollowing sustained growth and recent team changes, the business is now investing in rebuilding and strengthening its engineering capability creating an opportunity for a Technical Manager to take ownership of a key division and play a central role in its future development.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Technical Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of a specialist engineering division, combining technical expertise with team leadership and operational responsibility.\n\nThis is a varied role that blends office-based coordination, client interaction, and technical problem-solving. You will act as the key link between customers, engineering teams and internal departments, ensuring projects and services are delivered effectively.\n\nYou’ll also play a pivotal role in rebuilding and leading a small team, with the opportunity to shape processes and influence the direction of the division.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManaging the day-to-day operations of the division and supporting a small engineering team\nInterpreting customer requirements and developing technical solutions\nPreparing quotations and technical proposals for equipment and services\nConducting power quality analysis, including power factor and harmonic assessments\nSupporting site surveys, monitoring visits and customer meetings\nProducing detailed technical reports and recommendations\nEnsuring compliance with relevant standards\nLiaising with internal teams including service, sales and design\nSupporting project delivery through to installation and commissioning\nContributing to pricing reviews and commercial decisions\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nElectrically qualified engineer\nStrong understanding of industrial electrical installations and 3-phase power systems\nExperience carrying out electrical calculations\nBackground in power quality, switchgear, or similar electrical infrastructure\nPrevious experience leading or mentoring engineers\nConfident communicator with the ability to deal with clients and internal teams\nOrganised and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach\nDesirable:\n\nExperience with Power Factor Correction or harmonic filtering equipment\nPrevious field or site-based engineering experience\nThe Benefits\n\n£55,000 – £65,000 base salary + Company car or car allowance\nHalf day Friday\nOpportunity to lead and grow a division within a larger group\nSupportive, family-run business with a non-corporate culture\nClear long-term progression as the team and division expand\nHow to Apply\n\nPlease send your CV to Lauren Woolley at or call (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion.\n\nATA is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer.
