Reporting to – UK Metrology Manager – Calibration As Senior Calibration Senior Technician, you would be responsible for conducting a variety of instrument calibrations (mainly electrical) to ensure the validity and traceability of measurements in compliance with ISO 17025:2017 requirements. The role will involve following procedures and ensuring compliance with client contractual and KPI obligations. External training and support will be provided. • Calibration of a wide range of measurement instruments (mainly electrical) in line with ISO 17025:2017 standard and customer requirements, • Achievement of agreed training objectives, • Assist your line manager to determine whether calibration capability is compatible with customer requirements, • Sign-off internal and external audits findings, • Participate in continuous improvement projects, • Develop new calibration methods in accordance with customer requirements, • Determine whether calibration capability is compatible with customer requirements, • Document and maintain existing standards, processes, KPIs and record keeping, • Undertake analysis of results, including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations, • Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC colleagues at all times, • Formal qualification or experience in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably electrical / metrology based qualification), • Practical, hands‑on and disciplined approach to work and timekeeping, • Competent IT skills (mainly MS Office including Word & Excel), • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, • Strong organisational, analytical and problem solving skills, • Min. 2 years laboratory experience at calibration technician level or equivalent, • A good understanding of metrology, both practical and theory, • A basic understanding of ISO 17025:2017, • A basic understanding of the formulation of uncertainty budgets, • Competent and experienced in relevant technical disciplines, • Attention to detail, • No compromise approach to quality, • Willingness to learn and develop, • Methodical, • Flexible and adaptable, • Problem solver, • Highly motivated team player, • Customer focused, • High level of confidentiality and integrity, • Positive autonomous attitude, • Able to carry out manual handling tasks, • Monday – Friday, 37hr per week, • Flexibility to travel as and when required, • Full UK driving licence & own transport (UTAC is not easily assessable via public transport), • Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check, • NOTE: This position will be based at the UTAC Millbook Leyland site.
