PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE The Chief Geoscientist provides strategic and technical leadership across all geoscience domains — including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, data science, and structural analysis — ensuring the integration of multidisciplinary insights into exploration targeting, portfolio management, and project evaluation. This position drives innovation and data excellence through leadership of domain experts and the DB & QC Manager, ensuring the integrity, governance, and interoperability of all exploration data, systems, and standards across the organization. The Chief Geoscientist upholds technical standards and provides deep expertise across the exploration portfolio and the broader Endeavour geoscience function, offering high-level technical support to Regional Vice Presidents, VP New Ventures, and advisory input to the EVP Exploration & Growth. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Geoscience Leadership & Integration • Develop and maintain integrated geoscience workflows and technical standards for Greenfield Exploration, Infrastructure-related Exploration, and New Ventures., • Lead and integrate multidisciplinary geoscience domains including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, structural geology, and data science., • Supervise and support domain experts: geophysicists, geochemists, structural geologists, metallogeny specialists, and data scientists., • Promote innovation in geoscience through advanced data analytics, modeling, and digital transformation., • Ensure cross-functional collaboration and consistency in technical methodologies across the exploration portfolio., • Maintain accountability for the health of the geoscience function including capability assessments, definition of requirements, and professional development., • Guarantee quality control and assurance on technical delivery from exploration and growth teams. Strategic Support • Provide geoscience integration expertise to VP Regions, VP New Ventures, and Chief Geologists within the operations and growth functions., • Participate in strategic reviews, portfolio prioritization, and investment evaluations., • Act as internal technical consultant for project generation, assessment, and advancement., • Support business development and M&A through expert evaluation of geoscientific aspects., • Provide technical support to mine geology and operational geoscience as needed. People Development & Mentoring • Deliver internal training and mentorship programs focused on geoscience integration and best practices., • Coach and develop geoscientists across regional teams to strengthen technical excellence., • Promote innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the exploration organization. Technical Integrity & Compliance Contribute to QA/QC protocols and ensure adherence across data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation. • Guarantee the consistency, reliability, and integrity of multidisciplinary geoscience datasets., • Liaise with the Exploration Reporting & Compliance Manager to ensure accurate technical reporting and regulatory compliance. Stakeholder Engagement • Collaborate with regional and corporate exploration teams, technical committees, and external partners., • Represent the geoscience function in internal reviews, audits, and technical assessments., • Contribute to the dissemination of best practices and lessons learned across the organization. Governance & Committee Leadership • Chair of the Geoscience Technical Committee., • Member of the Exploration Investment Committee., • Ensure governance, peer review, and technical assurance processes are effectively applied across all geoscience domains. Data Management & Portfolio Management • Directly supervise the DB & QC Manager, ensuring full integration of data governance, QA/QC, and information management standards across exploration teams., • Accountable for the integrity, accessibility, and traceability of all geoscientific data., • Oversee the implementation of advanced data management systems, database architecture, GIS, and digital technologies., • Align geoscience data workflows and quality standards with corporate best practices., • Maintain accountability for portfolio management and ensure consistent, accurate reporting of exploration results and project evaluations. HSE & ESG Responsibilities • Demonstrate visible leadership in HSE and Social Performance., • Ensure compliance with Endeavour Mining’s HSE and ESG policies., • Participate in risk assessments and ensure all hazard controls are implemented., • Promote safe, ethical, and sustainable exploration practices across all geoscience activities. Reporting • Report regularly to EVP Exploration & Growth., • Produce clear, accurate, and technically sound reports for internal and external stakeholders., • Ensure database quality and documentation meet audit and compliance requirements. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Education • Master’s degree or PhD in Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or related discipline (Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Data Science). Relevant experience • Minimum 15 years’ experience leading multidisciplinary geoscience teams in mineral exploration., • Proven leadership in multi-country, multi-disciplinary environments., • Demonstrated expertise integrating geological, geochemical, geophysical, and data analytics workflows., • Excellent skills in data compilation, synthesis, and interpretation for mineral system understanding.
