Job Role As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and management of mechanical engineering systems for a variety of building services projects. Skills and Qualifications • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (MEng/BEng)., • Chartered or working towards chartership (e.g., CEng or IEng with a relevant institution such as CIBSE or IMechE)., • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, with a solid understanding of building services engineering., • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and other building services., • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of engineers., • Knowledge of current building regulations, codes of practice, and sustainability standards., • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities and Accountability Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services)., • Develop detailed mechanical design solutions in accordance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards., • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to gather technical data for design development., • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery., • Ensure that mechanical designs are energy-efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective., • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers within the team., • Review and approve technical documentation, calculations, and drawings., • Manage and support the preparation of project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations., • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice on mechanical design and systems., • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and building services technologies.
