Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time & Part-Time) 1:1 Visual Impairment Support Secondary School Kensington and Chelsea We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with visual impairment in a mainstream school. The successful candidates will work across the school day, ensuring the pupil can access learning, participate fully in the curriculum, and engage safely and confidently in all aspects of school life. The role includes both direct support and the creation/adaptation of learning materials to meet visual access needs. Key Responsibilities • Deliver consistent, high-quality 1:1 support within a mainstream class, • Adapt and modify learning resources to meet the pupil's visual requirements, • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists, • Support safe movement, orientation, transitions, and general wellbeing, • Provide supervision and social support during unstructured times, • Follow strategies advised by: Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), Habilitation Specialist, QTVI (Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired), • Promote independence, confidence, and engagement, • Maintain clear records and contribute to reviews Requirements • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), • Experience supporting pupils with visual impairment or willingness to receive training, • Strong understanding of inclusive practice and differentiation, • Commitment to safeguarding and high-quality pupil support APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION • All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy, • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained, • You must have legal right to work in the UK Disclaimer 'Nothing within the above advert was in any way designed or intended to discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation.
