Qualified Accountant - First Time Mover to Corporate Finance \n The Role \n Barber McLelland is working as an exclusive recruitment partner for a leading Corporate Financier, who, due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of new project work, is looking to recruit a newly or recently qualified ACA or ACCA accounting professional for the position of Corporate Finance Executive. \n Duties and Responsibilities \n As Corporate Finance Executive, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Finance Director and Managers within a wide range of Corporate Finance duties; these will include: \n\n • Involvement in Due Diligence assignments for both new and existing clients\n, • Assisting in various lead advisory assignments\n, • Creation of business plans and financial models across a wide range of Corporate Finance projects which will include mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, management buy-outs and disposals\n, • Researching and preparing for new deal opportunity pitches\n, • Producing financial forecast, business plans and information memorandums\n, • Researching and marketing for potential buyers/sellers for client\n, • Assist in dealing with client queries\n, • Participation in various networking events, building own network of professional services contacts\n\n Skills and Qualities \n The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified and will have gained a minimum of 4 year's experience working within the accountancy profession and looking to make a career move into a commercial environment. \n Individuals will have developed experience within a general accounting environment which will include statutory accounting, audit (not essential) and taxation. \n Applicants must have a strong desire to work in Corporate Finance and will possess the natural attributes needed to successfully develop a career within a corporate finance arena. \n These attributes will include a high level of commercial acumen, strong personal attributes and excellent negotiation and influencing skills, key for the business is also to recruit an individual that is a team player and happy to contribute at all levels within a corporate finance capacity. \n Salary Package \n\n • Base Salary - £38,000 - £40,000\n, • Significant Bonus\n, • Excellent Benefits Package\n\n This position represents an excellent opportunity for an individual to train and develop experience across all areas of corporate finance whilst working within a highly progressive Corporate Finance Specialist. \n Barber McLelland are a dedicated and niche recruitment consultancy service for the Accountancy Profession. Pratap Partnership is working with an established international group to recruit an experienced Group Consolidation & Systems Accountant for an initial three-month assignment. \n This is a hands-on project role supporting the implementation and stabilisation of a new group consolidation and reporting system. Working closely with the senior finance team, international finance colleagues and an external implementation partner, you will take responsibility for ensuring the new system produces accurate, fully reconciled and reliable group reporting. \n The role will include: \n\n • Supporting the implementation and rollout of a new group consolidation and reporting platform.\n, • Reconciling data within the new system to historic financial statements, consolidation files and existing reporting outputs.\n, • Validating trial balances, intercompany balances, investment eliminations and consolidation adjustments.\n, • Investigating and resolving differences between system outputs and historic group reporting.\n, • Supporting the consolidation of financial information across multiple international entities.\n, • Designing and testing financial reports for inclusion within the month-end reporting pack.\n, • Developing clear processes, controls and supporting documentation.\n, • Working with international finance teams to embed consistent reporting processes.\n, • Supporting system training and the transition away from existing spreadsheet-based consolidation processes.\n, • Assisting with audit requirements and ensuring a clear audit trail is maintained.\n\n The successful candidate will ideally have: \n\n • Previous experience as a Group Accountant, Group Reporting Accountant, Consolidation Accountant or in a similar role.\n, • Strong practical experience of multi-entity and international group consolidations.\n, • Detailed knowledge of intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, investment eliminations and consolidation adjustments.\n, • Experience implementing, developing or supporting a group consolidation and reporting system.\n, • Tagetik experience would be advantageous, although experience of another recognised consolidation platform will be considered.\n, • Experience reconciling new system outputs to historic financial statements and consolidation reports.\n, • Previous audit experience, either within practice or managing and supporting the audit process within industry.\n, • Strong Excel, analytical and reconciliation skills.\n, • The ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders across different locations.\n, • An accounting qualification or equivalent relevant experience.\n\n The role will be based in Sheffield, with a minimum of three days each week in the office. It is initially offered as a three-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension or a permanent opportunity depending on performance and longer-term business requirements. \n This would suit an experienced Group Accountant who combines strong technical consolidation knowledge with practical finance-systems experience and enjoys delivering a defined implementation project.
