The Role We are seeking a dynamic and driven High Voltage Contracts Manager to lead the development and management of a new High Voltage profit centre within our established business unit in Manchester. This is a strategic leadership position, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the centre's operations — including financial performance, client relationships, workforce management, and long-term growth. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping and executing the business strategy. You will ensure a strong and consistent pipeline of work by cultivating relationships with both new and existing clients, positioning the centre for sustained success and expansion. Key Responsibilities • Partner with management to deliver profit centre and business unit goals, promoting safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement., • Support the Business Manager with P&L reports and budgets, taking full commercial ownership of the HV profit centre — including orders, cash flow, and forecasting., • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient, consistent, customer-focused processes with a “right first time” approach., • Manage contractual obligations with appropriate controls, working with management and Commercial teams as needed., • Define project scopes and objectives with stakeholders, ensuring feasibility, resource optimisation, and on-time delivery., • Drive business development by identifying opportunities, preparing quotations, and contributing to tender success., • Set clear, measurable objectives aligned with company strategy to build a high-performance culture., • Monitor and control costs, improving efficiency and maximising profitability., • Ensure compliance with company policies, especially HV/LV Safety Rules., • Lead HR activities, including coaching, mentoring, and workforce development, while maintaining high safety, quality, and legislative standards., • Support the Operations Manager with ad hoc duties and wider business initiatives., • Act as a role model, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and company standards.
