Project Manager (Defence Barracks) Permanent, Full Time Location: Sandhurst We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team delivering a range of projects within our Defence contract portfolio. You’ll be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently, ranging in value from £50K to £3M, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Manage the full project lifecycle from inception to completion, including planning, delivery, and close-out., • Oversee multiple construction, refurbishment, and facilities management projects across the region., • Lead and coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget., • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project objectives., • Monitor project progress, financial performance, and compliance with contractual and statutory obligations., • Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across all project activities. About You • Proven background in Project Management within the construction or facilities management sectors., • Experience managing projects up to multi-million-pound values., • Strong understanding of project governance, financial control, and risk management., • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills., • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., APM, Prince2, or equivalent) desirable., • SC (Security Clearance) or the ability to obtain it is essential due to the nature of the contract. Discover more at___ Discover more at NO AGENCIES PLEASE * This is a home based role depending on location * Job Description We are looking for an experienced technology-oriented Project Manager who will be responsible for the day today delivery, management and reporting of customer focused cloud application migration projects and internal Cyber Service & Technology roadmap projects including leading on Business Change and solution adoption Duties & Responsibilities • Successfully manage multiple projects across a diverse client base., • Support pre-sales activities by contributing to ITT responses, presenting NEC Software Solutions’ implementation methodology, producing relevant documentation, and advising on commercial viability based on prior experience., • Lead the delivery of projects—whether as standalone engagements, part of a wider internal programme, or smaller phased deliverables—by coordinating internal resources and solution specialists., • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to initiate and plan projects in line with PRINCE2 principles, establishing appropriate governance and project structures., • Act as the primary client contact throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring effective communication, expectation management, and successful project outcomes., • Monitor and control project progress, budget, and billing activities, including milestone tracking, accurate forecasting, and revenue assurance., • Produce and maintain key project documentation including plans, logs, reports, and governance records., • Lead and participate in client-facing meetings such as project kick-offs, checkpoints, and steering boards, providing clear updates and direction., • Report regularly to internal stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, performance, risks, and opportunities., • Oversee work package management, task allocation, and third-party supplier coordination to ensure delivery quality and timelines are met., • Analyse key delivery metrics and implement continuous improvement measures where needed., • Support the process of designing and implementing the solution by engaging with Cloud engineering, security working group and technology Architecture teams., • Ensure smooth and successful hand-over from project to operational and support teams for the ongoing delivery of BAU service., • Seek to enhance the NECSWS Project Management Processes by participating in continuous improvement initiatives, updating processes and documentation as appropriate. Qualifications Required Knowledge and Experience • Proven experience in managing complex hosting, cloud migration or SAAS and technology upgrade projects., • Prince 2 Qualified or experience working to this methodology, • Ability to lead and motivate internal project teams, clients and third parties, • Ability to work in a commercially astute way, making considered decisions based on an understanding of the facts and commercial perspective, • Able and willing to travel throughout the UK and overseas, • Proficient user in MS Project and other MS product suites, • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills, • Experience managing budgets, revenue, and project margins., • Detail oriented, • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities., • Managing multiple project teams at the same time., • Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders., • Previous experience of working on Post Merger and Integration projects is desirable, • Able to plan, organise and control all aspects of project delivery, • Good technical knowledge and have ability to understand and communicate technical solution details to both technical and non-technical audiences, • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment Desired Knowledge and Experience • ITIL Service Management accreditation, • Sound understanding of technology solutions and their application within government and corporate marketplace Additional Information We pride ourselves in offering an excellent benefits package, including an above average pension scheme. Based at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, in this dual role you’ll join our Fire and Access team to provide a 24/7 fire surveillance service and support all aspects of fire safety across the entire London estate, as well as providing access control support at the Royal Mews. Key Responsibilities: You’ll monitor and respond to automatic fire detection systems, carry out ad-hoc patrols, as well as acting as first-response in the event of a fire or other emergency across all parts of the London estate. Based in the Control Room, you’ll be expected to monitor the security and access control systems, working in close liaison with the Police Control Room. You’ll also manage hot works permits, carry out fire safety ‘point of presence’ inspections, call point testing, fire panels, inspections of firefighting equipment, maintaining logs of activity on line and in daily logs. At other times, you’ll be a visible presence to ensure the safe operation of vehicle and pedestrian access routes for the Royal Mews, verifying passes and identification. You’ll also support daily operations by issuing keys, helping to co-ordinate parking and accepting deliveries. In the event of a fire, you’ll use systems to monitor smoke levels and make decisions regarding safe evacuation, carry out dynamic risk assessments, and act as ‘pathfinders’ for the fire service. You will also provide first aid support to the Royal Mews and elsewhere as required. You may be required to attend some events to ensure a Fire Service presence. The breadth of this role will provide opportunities to develop your existing skills, whilst gaining experience and training in new areas, enabling you to deliver a vital service to this unique organisation. Shift Pattern: You will work a 12 hour shift pattern of two days and two nights with four days off. About you Essential Criteria: While experience of working in the emergency services, preferably the fire service, would be an advantage, it’s your pro-active attitude and team-focused approach that will make the real difference. Standard IT skills are a must, including an ability to input data into spreadsheets, and you can also learn new systems quickly enabling you to operate our fire and security systems. With a good level of physical fitness, you’ll be confident carrying out inspections, working at heights and in confined spaces. Interpersonal skills are vital too, because you’ll be working closely with a wide range of people including employees, residents and visitors. With initiative, a responsive attitude and calm under pressure, you’re as effective working alone as you are working as part of a team.
