Mental Health Support Assistant | About the Role • Full-time, long-term position running until July 2026., • Working closely with pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural and learning support., • Gaining practical experience for those considering careers in education, psychology or SEND support., • Regular training and professional development built into the role. Mental Health Support Assistant | Responsibilities • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including SEMH needs., • Helping children regulate emotions and engage positively with learning., • Supporting classroom activities and adapting tasks to meet individual needs., • Working alongside class teachers and the SENDCo to support lesson delivery., • Contributing to a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Mental Health Support Assistant | Person Specification • A 2:1 degree from a top 20 UK university., • A clear interest in working with children with additional needs., • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs is essential., • A patient, empathetic and reliable approach., • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
