The Role We are seeking a proactive and organised Construction Paralegal to support a growing Construction, Infrastructure & Energy team. This is a varied role offering exposure to both contentious and non-contentious construction matters. You will work closely with partners, associates and consultants to support the delivery of high-quality legal services across the full lifecycle of construction projects. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate looking to build experience in construction law within a commercial, fast-paced and collaborative environment. The Team The Construction team is recognised for its expertise across the full lifecycle of projects, from early-stage development through to completion. The team advises across sectors including healthcare, higher education, manufacturing and residential property. They are known for handling high-profile work including major infrastructure developments and city-centre regeneration schemes, acting for social housing providers, developers, contractors and construction professionals across the UK in both contentious and non-contentious matters. Key Responsibilities Non-Contentious Construction Support • Assist with the preparation, review and collation of construction documents including JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts, • Support the drafting of consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees, • Prepare first drafts of ancillary documents and amendments, • Manage contract execution processes and maintain document bibles, • Undertake legal research on construction and regulatory matters, • Assist with project due diligence and data room management, • Assist with adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and TCC proceedings, • Prepare bundles (electronic and hard copy) and manage case documentation, • Draft chronologies, document summaries and schedules, • Support the preparation of submissions, witness statements and expert instructions, • Conduct legal research on construction disputes and procedural issues, • Open new matters and ensure compliance with internal risk and AML procedures, • Monitor deadlines and key dates, • Support billing processes and WIP reporting, • Maintain accurate file management and document control, • Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients, • Support partners and associates in delivering pragmatic, commercial advice, • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and training sessions You will be an organised and motivated paralegal with a strong interest in construction law and the built environment.
