Complex Care Support Worker 3 LD's per week Location Hornchurch, Essex Service User Adult male, 32 years old, with acquired brain injury and spinal injury Role Overview We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Complex Care Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a 32-year-old adult living with complex neurological needs, including acquired brain injury (ABI) and spinal injury, in the Hornchurch area. The role is community-based and requires a car driver with access to a vehicle to support appointments, activities, and independence. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care in line with an individualised care plan, promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 specialist support within the service user’s home and community Support with personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care, and skin integrity Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning, including hoisting where required Support with neurological and spinal injury needs, following care and risk management plans Assist with rehabilitation goals and daily routines Support with community access, social activities, and appointments Carry out delegated clinical tasks following training and competency sign-off (e.g. catheter care, bowel care, PEG feeding if required) Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive presentation Maintain accurate daily records and communicate effectively with the wider care team Work in line with CQC standards, safeguarding policies, and confidentiality requirements Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential) Right to work in the UK Previous experience in care or support work (complex care experience preferred) Calm, patient, and reliable approach Ability to follow detailed care plans and risk assessments Good communication skills and professional boundaries Flexibility to work a rota including days, nights, and weekends Desirable Experience & Qualifications Experience supporting adults with acquired brain injury Experience supporting adults with spinal cord injury Experience supporting neurological or physical disabilities NVQ / QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards) Experience with clinical interventions such as PEG feeding, catheter care, suctioning, or bowel management Community-based or 1:1 care experience
